Avenger Squad Night 92-18-08
« on: February 18, 2008, 06:26:24 AM »
Lut enters Truekills office and presents a crisp salute, despite the smell of booze on his breath . "Sir, the Avengers Squad night is tonight at 7 PM Central time. We will plan on flying jabo missions with the option of dumping ord and killing any resistance we encounter."

"Sir, I hate to complain, but this saki crap is awful; I feel we'd get more cooperation from the men if maybe we were able to capture some American whiskey." Lut presents another crisp salute and about face, then exits the office and staggers back towards the Avengers tent..

We chose to fly the nimble KI-84 with iron tonight.  We managed to capture 4 GV fields, then started on an airfield; had it ready for troops and discovered an enemy CV off the coast that started launching many fighters.  We were very impressed with the performance of the KI-84 as we landed many kills for the Axis tonight in them.

They kept our C-47's from getting in with all the cv planes, so we switched to using M-3's to haul troops to no avail.  We finally discovered we were out numbered 2 to 1 so gave up on that field.

We decide to go and take A-18 off the southern coast of okanawa.  On climb out from our field we found another enemy cv and decided to deal with it before taking A-18.  We made 4 attacks on the aircraft carrier and sent her to the bottom.  We then pressed on with the attack on A-18 and took it.

Most of us had to log after that, but we had a very fun night; I hope you Allied scum enjoyed chasing our m-3's down in the woods, it was very humbeling for us.

It's kinda harsh how many allied CV's there are. I've been flying Axis all week, and then tonight switched to allied to fly with the rest of the squad. Unfortunately I found out just how many allied carriers there are!

Pretty good effort to sink a carrier too. Must have taken a LOT of patience and endurance. Just curious, were you using the '67s with Torps? Or were you divebombing it?

Odee and I were on trying to torp each others carriers the other night and it was just a pain in the butt!

We found the if we had torpedo planes coming in low at the same time we had dive bombers coming in, it split the ack fire and we could make it in pretty easy.
