akamixer and I had took off together to piss off some bad guys. on climb out, he said he'd be right back and went to get a drink. after about 30 seconds, I check 6'd him. I guess he was just coming back into the room when he heard it. he didn't think it was funny at the time but we all laugh about it now. he also uses headphones now, haha  :aok

I've got a few.. and oddly enough I don't even remember my first kill!

I did get my first kill in a 262 the other day... been playing two years now and FINALLY saved up enough perks to afford one.  (Up until about 6 months ago, I flew uber rides, and ate up my perks as fast as I got them.. resulting in low perks.. now I fly lesser planes and am racking them up).  I was the diversion for a raid which worked out fairly well, and got my kill as I was turning around to RTB (Just HAD to BNZ some poor chump).  I even made it back and landed.

Anyways.. three great memories...

1>> Me163 Base hopping mission... about 30 of us upped them and flew halfway across the map, leaving the landing gear on and stopping at every other base to refuel.  Oddly enough only a couple of us crashed in the process.  We raided a base with them and got accused by many of hacking...

2>> "Operation Iron Butterfly"... not too long ago we found the map had the RV8 unlocked.  One of our fellow rooks decided to up a HUGE RV8 mission (just for fun) about the same time our mission was lifting.  We ended up at the same base.  We were on the town, the RV8's (About 40 of them!) were fluttering around their base, creating the greatest diversion possible.  From the town, it looked like a bunch of Butterflies fluttering over the base, hence the name.  Good fun!

3>> After getting tired of complaints about us taking tank town, we decided to make a point.  About 30 of us upped in Goons, and dropped troops all over the city in the middle of all the spawns.  A few of us got shot down, but there must have been over 200 troops floating down at one time.

Good fun!

/\ If you like those silly missions, three words for you-

"Candy Mountain Mishun"

Got 2 Lancs with a D3A in one of em. Nothing like stumbling across an enemy buff mission when you are all in Vals.
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

Well, I hate to say it, but it was the night JB73 got so mad at me he got himself muted, and got so mad about that that he started a thread titled after me.
It was right after vox came out and I flew over to help Drediock.
Jb73 showed up in (I think) a 202, and I was in a Niki- Dred turned him perfectly, JB73 showed me his belly, and I touched the trigger, firing a 4 round burst, of which 3 hit JB and took off his wing.
As he was going down, I told him (JB) "Thanks for the easy kill" and he lost it, hehe I still laugh thinking about it.
I looked for the thread, but I could'nt find it (:

Massive squad operation that took two weeks to organize and all squads involved worked together to turn the whole map green in one night.

The plans Code name was : Green Millennium

The game was : Air Warrior

Can't find the picture of the map on the web. I know i seen it somewhere.

Another one might be 11 kills in a Nik and not one a vulch.  Busted up a mission and fought my way back to base alone. I was barely able to glide in dead stick with only a couple bullets left in my guns and hunter bogie's in the near distance.  I was lucky to claim my name in lights on that one.

Reading these makes me realize how much i love this game.  Everyone has a different story!! Might be same tale of a same event, but from a different point of view.

Another one of my all time favorites, and this was a couple years ago, was when i was with the 31st Bomber Barons.  I was bored one day and decided to put together a squad co-op in bishland.  To make a LONG story short, after about a month of planning, we had around 15 Bish squads working together at once.  We started the night with a HUGE B-17 raid with a P-51B escorts cuz of ENY killed our P-51D and flattened the entire front "was like 10 bases and about 3 or 4 bases deep.  The clostest fields to the front were a good 3 sectors away!  Within 3 hours, we took like 30 some odd bases.  IF i remember right, there was close to 400 bish on at that time!! Towards the end of the night, we began to worry about only being able to up A6M2/P-40Bs because of ENY!!  All the Knights began to log off because there was no bases enabled to fly from!

I put together another one about a month later against the Rooks, but didnt quite have the same success due to lack of squads participating, was around 10 squads by then because it wasnt a popular night for whatever reason!!

We all love AH for one reason or another, weather it be historical fights, unbelieveable kills, making great friends or whatever!! We all have a story to tell and i love reading about them!  So keep em coming!!

By the way....What about Bettys bomber mission??  Someone tell me!!

DGS seemed to be a fun Scenario.  Wish i could have been there, waited 7 years for that one, but because i was moving, i was unable to attend.  Anyone have screen shots from it??

Your luck sucks, Joe. If you would've asked last month, I had full AH films of all three frames.

Go to bed already. :D

Haven't been playing too long, but I gotta say that the massive Freebirds Jeep mission is the moment that always brings a smile to my face.  Having 30+ jeeps lined up for a photo on a just captured GV base was just too hilarious.

PS:  I'm still waiting for that screen shot:)

The missions mentioned in DGS with the 474th would rank at the top.  Great bunch of guys to fly with, the total immersion and the 'tension' taking the buffs in and out.

If I go back to the Airwarrior days, there were some scenario runs that were close.  Del and I had some memorable flights in Longbow and Sicily, but the radio traffic, the look, the feel etc of DGS I don't know will ever be topped for me.

All those 38s in the right markings for the 474th, and all the good folks I was flying with, made that one tops.  Probably as close as I'll ever get to being a 'fighter pilot" :)

I can still remember the conversation going on about the time the screenshot was taken.  Guys were talking about grandpas, uncles, fathers who'd served in WW2.  For whatever reason it was very, for lack of a better word, 'moving'  to hear about stories of Tarawa, D-Day, Iwo, China or wherever, and talking about what it must have been like for those guys flying 38s for real back then, not knowing if they were coming back.

The 80th and SAPP is good fun in the MAs, and keeps me going, but DGS was something special
