Do films show CVs now?
« on: February 25, 2008, 04:17:05 PM »
I thought I heard a while back that CVs might have been fixed in the film viewer. Is this correct? I have a film I want to turn into a video, but it involves planes taking off from the CV. Used to be you could be on a CV and not have it show on film. Is that still the case?

CV's still work, as far as I know Krusty. The opening scene in this film is a CV takeoff...

Dang, I want a really long uncut piece but fraps is limiting me to 30 seconds. I'll be damned if I pay their exhorbitantly high registration fee, though. Is there any way to get sound + video exported directly from the film viewer? Do any of those export formats work? I can import it and re-format it when I save it, but I haven't ever used that "export" feature in the film viewer before.

Yes, some of the formats do work, based on what you have installed on your PC. To be honest, I used a short 20 second clip, ran it then saved it as avi. Then it asks you to select the File compression.  I can't remember, but I think it was the MS one or the MPEG. (on my PC) Try it with 640x480 and leave the FPS at the default. Write it down, then try again. Just change the compression tool only. Use the size and FPS settings as in the first one. Then view the avi(s).  Once ya have that, and the format you like, then you can convert it with FRAPS or directly with WMM.  You can also adjust the FPS after you get the format you like. It makes a big difference. Making the movie is really assembling many small parts, and I mean many, as you will find out. 4-10 second shorts. (30 secs of film, but ya need that in order to get graphics to load before you "Start: and Stop" to get the 4-10 seconds of good stuff.)

No other way to really help you, with my limited experience. Made 2 with it, the rest with FRAPS. Life is much simpler that way  :)
