the turning around guys......they ALL turn back as soon as they see you've given up.......trick is to hide your speed, as they all seem to think you're slow at that point. i've also found that about 1/2 of them will end up in a turn fight with ya.....they seem to get pissed that they can't get the shot they want, and at one point or another will pull juuuust a teeeny bit harder for that shot thry'll never get....but they give you a chance by doing this....another thing i do when they're running, is i keep a very shallow climb going, as when they turn back, they almost always loop up and over for the alt gain....so this way, i'm not seriously lower than they are.......

I do that same thing. I start climbing as much as i can then when i see them turning i turn. Maybe a little shallow climbing turn. I hit wep while i'm doing this. I level out and dive slightly and dive under their merge. I loop up and over (P-38) as usually i am able to out vert them. Sometimes i'll double immel and watch them try to hang with it. Now i'm on their tail. They dive desperately. They look really helpless.
I can tell the ones that are inexperienced. Usually i get a oldtimer who starts verticaling up with me. We start a vertical rolling scissors. Each of us rolling at the top for the shot trying to dive in behind each other. This is when it gets good... we spiral dive for the deck each trying to outurn the other. We end up on the deck, it's a flat turn contest to the death. (I love these)
Usually if i'm in a 38 i try to hang in there as long as i can. If it's a Spit i'm dead. Usually La's i can beat, Niki's. Sometimes i can get F-4u's to stall and bobble under torque which allows me to kill them.
Be careful, just cause a guy runs doesn't mean he's scared. He's just setting you up again. And will come in and could possibly be the best fight of your life. I love those.....
