its the big hole from one of the maps in the game LOL
death valley.it's near the end of the trail that leads to the mud flats if i'm remembering correctly.
Back in November, I flew down the coast to LA, then back via Vegas/Death Valley/Hawthorne, NV/Klamath Falls. Between Death Valley and Hawthorne, I took a picture of a crater. I'm trying to figure out where it is, and have a candidate I'd like a second opinion on.Here's the trip, hand drawn on a map. This was from memory a couple months afterwards, so it's not exact:http://tinyurl.com/2wahnjThe picture:http://picasaweb.google.com/ben.hallert/LongCaliforniaNevadaTrip/photo#5130692888112721938(the location tag I put into Google Maps there is a guestimate, disregard)The candidate location is:http://wikimapia.org/#lat=37.006391&lon=-117.454147&z=14&l=0&m=aI think it looks similar. The picture was taken out my left window so the plane was east of the crater. I think it was within a half hour of leaving Furnace Creek airport.Thoughts?
You're right. It's the ubehebe crater. It's along the way to the Racetrack Playa.
Whoa! That looks like a match alright, thanks! I was in GE earlier yesterday evening for a different project, for some reason I just never re-opened it for this one. (forehead slap)Fantastic!
