Downloading problems
« on: March 19, 2008, 05:14:24 PM »
I downloaded the new patch from the AHII website and it works ok exept for when i hit "quit" to go to a diffrent arena the game crashes. but i am having problems downloading the "fixed" version for the P-39 skin, when i try to do it on the game after i hit Login, it just says, Time remaning-Time remaning instead of a # for all of them, and it doest dload. hope version is posted on site.

Same problem here.  Windows Vista.  Couldn't download from server.  Uninstalled, then downloaded from website as if new install.  Now, cannot quit game.  It crashes and locks up.  Also, vox is shot.  Not sure if the two are related, but vox worked fine last weekend.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled twice - same problems.

If you are on Vista and have a dual-core AMD CPU, you will have to reset the game to run in "Windows 98/ME" compatibility mode after each update is done.

I am on vista with dual core processor (4400 AMD Athalon 64x2) but my problem is I can't get the download to even begin.  Download screen gives no indication it has even located the server, no file length or time information is displayed.  At this point the screen locks up and I have to ctrl-alt-del to get out.

Viod56, if you are using the 32 bit version of Windows XP, you have a different issue.  I need to see a DXDIAG output and a description of what leads up to the game crashing.

There appears to be an issue with Vista, and possibly Windows XP 64 bit, which we should have addressed in the next patch.  Specifically, it has to do with going into the game's "Video Settings" and possibly when exiting the game.

There is no service pack two for Vista, yet.  Service pack one just shipped for Vista the other day.

What version of DirectX is running on your computer?  Run DXDIAG to find out.
