If you have access to another joystick try it and see if it works correctly. It's always a good idea if you can afford it to have a spare stick, i have 5. If that doesn't work uninstall your stick drivers, reinstall and recalibrate in windows/AH. I'm thinking i had that same problem with that stick when i had it in use, i've got 2 of those sitting here gathering dust. Think there is also a way to clear all your stick settings and calibrations from AH and start from scratch. Shoot Scuzzy an e-mail as he sent me the instructions on how to do that with my X52.

try the tab or caps lock key. I have the same issue sometimes in the MA and I hit one of all the keys down that side, It's always at a time that I'm unable to look at the keys I'm hitting as I'm looking all over the show for the guy I've lost.
Doesn't work.
You may want to try hitting your "home" key then F10. Hope this helps.
Tried it, but will try it again. *EDIT* Doesn't work.

Nope, don't have access to any spare joysticks. And I also don't want to go through the hassle of sending emails to people. Call me lazy, but I'm going to figure this out without e-mail!  :lol

Reserving space for an in-game film of my problem. My set "fire all guns" button doesn't register either. Could somebody give me instructions on how to post a film viewer film here? Please excuse my cluelessness

Its a joystick problem.  Try a different USB port.

Make sure your computer is ON.

Then run your joystick diagnositc software to see if your joystick is okay.

Works temporarily, then when I go to look around again it keeps doing that. I don't use any outside programs. It's on all planes.

That then sounds like a stick problem. Try un-assigning the left, left fwd and left back hat switch positions from views and assign something like fire primary, secondary, all guns etc. If the guns keep firing after you have released the swich then you know the hat switch is faulty or your stick drivers are messed up.

Try uninstalling stick drivers and try again. Kermit is actually right, the diagnostic software may be able to show you if its not working right.

Hope this helps. :aok

I don't have any Joystick Diagnostic Software, at least not that I'm aware of.

I will try that out. I don't think I can uninstall the stick drivers, because I think I don't have any.

That might be your problem right there. Download the Saitek Stick drivers (different from the stick software) from here-->http://www.saitekusa.com/USA/down/drivers.htm.

In windows, open Start>Settings>Control Panel>Game Controllers. Your stick should be listed there. Click properties. The next screen to follow should be of all your various control inputs (axes n buttons). Move the stick about, press a few buttons and check the responses. If your hat's sticking, it will show as pressed continuously. If not then it probably the windows default drivers messing up. (Microsoft and Saitek don't seem to see eye to eye ;)).

Good Luck :aok

Went to the website, said there were no drivers or software available.

When I go to properties, it shoes my left hat switch constantly being pressed left, but only after I move my hat.

Also, it shows my button 1 constantly being pressed. My X, Y, and Z axises look fine.

Hmm, can't find the modify button.

Alright, so I've decided I'm going to get a new joystick. Thank you all for your help.  :salute

Yep the hat's sticking. Its not the actual "grey" structure that has to stick but the switch contact for left seems to have lost its spring. I used to play with a stick like that for a while. Unmapped the hat and kept using the Numpad keys to look around. Now even with a working hat I find myself looking with the Numpad :o. Don't you just hate bad habits  :furious. :D :D

Never liked that HAT switch thingy, I've always stuck to the numpad.

Thanks for bumping a long dead thread...

But I've removed the mappings for my hat switch buttons and I'm using the numpad instead.
