No need to bash Vista at all.  All you have to do is look at the bug lists for it.  That speaks volumes for the problems Microsoft has with it and why so many people are having troubles with it.

I figure anyone saying they are not having any problems are just unaware of the problems they are having.  Given time, the problems will finally manifest in a grotesque manner.

Not saying that you cannot work around many of the bugs.  But to do that, you have to acknowledge they are there.

those problems and most peoples lack of knowledge of them is why i usually suggest sticking with XP.  i personally stick with XP since i run a laptop and need a lite OS to be able to game with.  not to mention the security stuff in vista is annoying.  >_<

It is. Although some of the biggest OEMs may refuse but that's a clear sign you shouldn't deal with them in the first place!

My best advice is to find a smaller local provider who is willing to custom build a box for you with the parts YOU choose, not some budget manager at a large OEM.

I know cyberpowerpc.com offers vista and xp.  I bought mine with vista just because of the fact they offered Vista Home Premium for free at the time.

been running Vista for 6 months now and other than a few problems getting it set up have had not problems, some of my friends hate it but most of them are downloading freewear and trying to use programs not set up for Vista. Ownly problem with it and AH is I just need a better machine now with the new updates. 60 FR down to 15 if I'm luckly, went back to 512 with sliders set 1/2 and still not good.

that would be one of vista's many problems, the OS takes too much power to run, and its very hard to streamline.
