Lag/Stutter/Freeze on first shots, under d200, since last update

Talked to at least a dozen people this happens to.

Ever since the last update, on shots under d200, the hits cause a huge stutter.

Tried reinstalling the game, lowering graphics levels and turning off skins. Does not help.

Waffle has a good article on the freeze problem.Go to graphics and put a check in the disable other planes skins.It helped me,and if you try different settings on the sliders you will find that the problem is fixable.I also changed video cards,going from two evga 7950's in sli,to one monstrosity large MSI 8800 GT.I always wondered why right after a patch,graphics got weird.Waffle addreses that problem very well.Give it a read.

Didn't work for me. Since last patch this has become such a problem that it is almost unflyable. I have defragged, lowered settings, deleted cache.... the whole nine yards.... even preload textures and skins. No Joy!

I have a 512mb ATI PCIe card, 4 gigs of ram, and 2.5tb drivespace with lots of room. Only other time it was like this I just deleted cache and all was well.

Sorry to hear Shuffler.Just as soon as I started saying all was well,I got a massive freeze while attacking Lancs.I also got one while lining up for a shoot on a La7,that caused me to nearly ram the La7.This problem is really getting to be irratating.AMD 6000,all the ram I can fit into the board,one of the fastest video cards made,gaming sound card,and all settings on low end,and still getting freezes,stutters.It has got to the point I hate to see a update for all the problems it brings.Back to the drawing board.

The stutter upon initial firing of weapons is a new issue introduced with the update. I can't see how you can eliminate it by referring to Waffle's video settings. It's a bug, not everyone's machine. No one reported this prior to the update.

Yes I notice the stutter...freeze while changing views.It doesn't happen all the time,but it's there.it's obvious that the new update has caused these problems,but I still think Waffle has the right idea,because after a while the problems go away.Something to due with the vid card getting to see all the new stuff,if that makes any sense.

I now must report the mini-freeze when I fire my guns the FIRST time! :confused:

Last almost a full second............

Can only recall it happening the first time.................

Perhaps something isn't being loaded in memory like it used to be?

It seems like the hit sprites aren't cached at start up.

Thats exactly what it seems like to me... the first hit that happens after starting up AH freezes the game, so I just fire off a round at a hanger or tree and it doesn't happen again, though it is annoying when I forget.

And even that's not much help to me, as I'm alt-tabbing frequently, and every hit after coming back is a new "first" one.
