You know guys submarines did carry guns and planes. Look at this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_submarine_I-17 it shows many attacks that submarines did on U.S. soil in WWII.

it was kill4ed after being caught refueling a german u-boat. so either it was captured, was a traitor, or they took a u-boat and used it for undercover work.
