reduce the ack lethality to zero.  I would rather risk being vultched on landing just so I could go into the ack where the ackllieds hide and kill kill kill.  I'll check this forum periodically to see how the debate rages.  in the meantime the MAs are providing better fights than the AvA is so that's where I'll be.

You are missing out on some pretty good fights then.  I did the same thing about a month ago, not impressed with always being out GUNNED.  (I still whine to my countrymen about using 1200 rounds to down a single aircraft at practically 0 range and proper convergence = doh, unintentional whine).   :furious

Check in with Stampf, RMrider, Republic and the gang.  At least I have had loads of fun, in toe to toe battles, even when getting owned by some excellent maneuvering by 109 pilots.  Heck, a Stuka might have shot my Hurri down last night it was so intense, I couldn't tell.

Unfortunately every time I try and give it a go again, something makes me want to throw my computer into the floor.  The other night I upped from a base under a cap, and died  few times..which isn't a problem.  (If I didn't want to be vulched I'd up from a different base.)  So I upped again, and died...then saw whines on 200 telling me to get out of my ack.

Uhh...  :huh

It was actually my first time on this BoB setup.  It was tough.  Some heavy fighting in the southwest of England.  (The Bostons are like 234's in latewar though...oh well, live and learn).

We even had to break out Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe...

Salute Shifty, Venom, Chilli, snoogie...or  snuggums...I dont recall,...and more.  A fun night, all in all.  I will say, 95% of the Air to Air took place in the ack-free zone between our respective fields.  I scored no vultches, nor was I vultched.  :salute

Yes quite a show put on by JG-11 and the Avengers last night.
Great fights, that was the most intense dog fights I've seen since Da War started in the AVA.

<S> Luftwaffe pilots, it was a blast.

This sounds so familiar are you sure you weren't flying Allied last night? :lol

In all seriousness, please stick with it.  I mean those fights that we were involved in, you only get from experienced AH2 veterans. :salute

Ack is there for a reason, it is a hazard and annoyance to the attacker, and needs to be dealt with in that fashion.  I admit that I like to use Ch 200 taunts to drum up a fight, and hopefully I am able to do it tastefully.  Sometimes ack is the only advantage to being a defender and it is your choice to ignore it or not.  The other night though, I was in a 3 vs 1 fight for my life, between bases.  Although one of you got me, I was confident it was a good fight and sarcastically responded on 200, "How's that for Ack draggn?"  Then properly gave out the salutes.  I believe that is when you and I discussed how much fun it was, and to me at least, I was feeling the old AvA.

I'm jumped on early for 30 minutes to an hour which pretty much became all night!  Great fights.  I very much enjoyed the night.

The Avengers all disappeared for awhile early.  Where could they be?  Nice raid guys getting that foot hold in England.  TK did a good job of saving the port after we lost the VB.  It then became a good between base slugfest with many good fights.

A big to all that were on.

Give up your alt advantage and see how fast they stay away from the AAA.  Or just go back to the DA and furball to your hearts content.

I see this ack hug complaint all of the time.  The one time it was leveled at me this was the situation.  Free atta-boys to anyone who can come up with a way to have avoided it.

Sitrep

Allied field located about 1 keypad from an axis strat.  Axis Vbase about 1 grid away with an airfield half a grid past that.  Jg54 up in force, aprox 15 axis players against 6-8 allied.  We were uping and meeting them in between our base and thge Vbase all of which was in range of the axis strat puffy ack.  Someone, whom shall remain nameless, constantly screamed over 200 about Ack hugging.  There was no way for us not too since we were almost pinned into a vulch and could not get more than 1 kp from our field before being jumped by 190s with 10k alt advantages.  The nameless person ranted at me for near 20 minutes about ack hugging despite the fact that he was never hit by the puffy as far as I could tell. (we were not pushed back into base ack itself) He never shot me down himself, (I got him 3 times), although one of his squaddies pwned me about 10 times that night.

I found the whole thing to be absolutely hilarious.  If you dont want to chase people into ack then dont push them all the way back onto their fields...make them come out to you.  While I find it to be frustrating when someone runs to ack I wont blame them for it when its 2 or 3-1 odds with huge altitude disadvantages too.
Either that or take a couple of minutes to knock out the ack and then vulch so we can whine about vulchers for a change.

I normally wouldn't comment but I did have a spitfire run to the cv ack for about 20 minutes, no kidding.

I wish I had recorded it.  I was in a 110C and whenever he came into icon range he would just turn back to his cv.  I did loops over and over in plain view, gave him an alt advantage and still as soon as he saw me ready to fight he just tried to lure me into the cv ack.  It was very pitiful.

I think jager1 might have seen him do it a bit too.  Who wants to play a game like that?  Only way they can get a kill is with a cv ack proxy?
