Eight B17Gs were tasked with AA suppression at the airfield at Licata (A18) and an enemy vehicle depot (V49) to the Northwest of Licata.
The bombers climbed to the Northeast and North to the rendezvous with escorting fighters East of Tripoli and turned East across the Med to Sicily.
Bombing altitude was 26,000 feet.
One bomber with escort was detached from the formation near the Sicilian coast and it flew NE to the vehicle depot and accomplished its mission and rejoined the main formation over Licata.
Six bombers bombed Licata with great success and the formation withdrew to the Southwest and Seven B17s landed at Sfax (A9).
Wilfrid, the Squad XO was bounced to desktop by Roger Wilco early into the flight and flew the rest of the mission as gunner with Pollock.
During our egress word was recieved that both of the targeted fields had been captured, an indication that our mission and that of whoever was tasked with transport command had been accomplished.

I saw no enemy aircraft during the flight although one was spotted by other members of the flight.
