Pilot Reports
Pilot name: ygsMilo
Unit:  JG 53 ( flying 205s last frame)

Fighter kills/assists: 0/1

2-Engined Bomber kills/assists:0

4-Engined Bomber kills/assists:0

Status: RTB and landed 2 sorties safely at A17 in C.205. No kills 1 assist.

Commentary:  5 members of JG 53 uped from 17 and proceded to CAP 18.  Ran into Spits at 18k south of 18.  Big furball broke into 2 seperate fights.  Disengaged from the high fight because of enemy numbers (sorry Swager) and dove into the low fight, pinged Bloom25 hard but Nath finished him.  RTB to 17 reupped to CAP 18 again, no action landed to work on RW.

Lesson learned: RW is a must in this type of action.  Not having it severly cut back on my SA while trying to communicate with squad members.

Schlacht Gruppe 4 (5 pilots)took off from A17, almost got wasted by city ack at the end of the runway. Gained desired altitude and proceeded in direction of A18, then turned NW and followed the coast to V49 and A16. We recieved notice of spitfires near A18 and reversed course in that general direction. We observed two seperate furballs, and after observing Nath had all under control in first furball we proceeded to the next. We dove in, with wolfgang and I believe Drex got kills. I pinged a spit up bad and caught and killed him trying to ditch on the blue land. We proceeded to A19 for refuel and rearm. Launched from A19. Set course for A18 and while inroute, saw cons called SE A18. When we arrived, all enemy were dead or rtb'd. At this point we escorted a JU88 to A15 and lost hblair due to disco. The 4 of us, Drex commanding, set course WNW for the A7/A8 area as we were getting reports of enemy and observed V46 captured in the text buffer. We encountered many high contacts SW of A7, the furball degenerating to a low altitude fight very quickly. In the confusion I shot down 4 Tiffies. The only names I remember were Fatty and Frenchy. I RTB'd to A7, refueled and took a break as the post adrenaline shakes were to much to fly with, let alone take off. The frame ended. WOW, most fun I've had flying in a long time. Not that I don't have fun on a regular bas...aw never mind, ya'll get the picture

I/Kg77 AAR  24 Oct.00

This flight consisted of 2 Ju-88A4's, Myself and Wotan. We departed from A20 hdg 270 per mission orders. Continued on this hdg until we reached our IP and altitude of 15k. We then turned S to A18. We reached A18 unmolested and with clear skies. Each of us took out 2 AAA emplacemants on our first pass and turned for a second pass. On our second pass we each destroyed another AAA emplacement as well as some fuel and an ammo bunker. We thought all AAA was down and called for troops. Closer inspection revealed what looked to be a remaining AAA emplacement. Wotan voluntereed to make a close pass to investigate. Unfortunately , there was 1 AAA emplacement left but it was obscured by smoke. Wotan spotted it and quickly released his remaining ordinance and started to take fire from this emplacement. Wotan's heroic efforts were in vain, his ordinance missed and he was shot down. As his plane spiraled to the ground , he called out the position of the remaining AAA. I then made a pass and destroyed the remaining AAA and gave the "all clear" for troops.

I/Kg77 Summary:

Pilot: Wotan
3 AAA emplacements destroyed(A18)

Possible additional Tgts destroyed (no report , logged off)

Status: KIA (airframe and pilot)

Pilot: Thorin
4 AAA emplacements destroyed(A18)

Fuel Tanks destroyed(A18)

Ammo bunker destroyed(A18)

Status: RTB

Thanks for the clear skies over our target!!

Thanks for the reports guys! Keep them coming, so I can update the pilot score and awards pages!

Reminder to all pilots:  Each frame of the med league is flown as a one life / one plane event.  Rearming is allowed, but after you have exited/lost your first plane, you can only take a C47 or gun for a bomber after that!

You got 4 fighter kills, killed acks, 4 aircraft and 4 fuel tanks at A15, flying a 205?

If I'm not totally mistaken in this case, it seems that Nath flew a Ju88 after his 205 sortie, which means he will not get the points from his bombing.  Sorry, but we have to play by the rules!!  Because this was a "fun frame", the fields were not closed, but that didn't mean re-ups were allowed.  Nath, if you indeed scored those kills flying a 205 - WTFG!

Anyway, well done with your 4 kills Nath! You just earned yourself a IC 1st class.

And Lizard3!  Ace in a day, not bad. You got an Iron Cross First Class as well!

Thorin receives the IC 1st class as well! Congratulations!

I will update the scores and awards pages as soon as possible.  http://www.hut.fi/u/vpitkane/LLv34/med

See you again on saturday!

I landed my 205 then captured 18 and then took JU88 from 18 > 15.

So i should get 50 points for field capture, correct?

B]

Heh, no.   You get 5 points for the field capture and 4 points for the fighter kills, for a total of 9 points in this frame. This brings your total to 11 points, which earns you the Honor Cup!

But if this had been a "live saturday frame" (saturday night live?   ) your squad would have received 50 points for the field capture and 20 points for the fighter kills, yes.

League scores and pilot scores are separate things.  Pilot scores are totally unofficial. Official league scores are only counted from saturday frames.

Besides from upping in a Ju88 against the rules - excellent job, Nath!

Lessee, I took a G2 as part of JG27.  Discoed, came back up.  Camo and Hazed got into a spot of trouble with some FTDs by Tunis.  We came screaming in at the very tail end.  I sprayed the last burst into a P38 trying to run for field ack and got an assist.
At the end, only Camo and I were left.  We were RTB when a huge blob appeared on DAR heading for the home airfield (A6).  Camo ordered me to intercept while he refueled and rearmed.  I foolishly did so and ran smack into 3 or 4 b17s with a full typhoon escort.  I managed to bail out directly over A6.
So I got a goon and went to rescue the three members of Jg27 on the ground by Tunis.  I discoed right before landing to pick them up.  I came back, got up, rescued all three and returned to base.
I then took part in the Ju52 mission to Malta, but did not get the caputure.
We then tried v49(?), first time was unsuccessful.  The second time THorin dropped on the acks, and I bussed them in for capture.
I'm not sure if the frame was over by then, though.

Dinger, you managed to shoot one of the Typhoons down if you didn't notice.    That kill nudged your point total to 20.5, making you the first Axis Pilot in the history of Aces High Mediterranean League to be awarded the German Cross!  Congratulations!

Here's my report:

Our 5 109 G-2's patrolled the Tunis area, split into two.  Hazed and I were just W of A8 when we noticed 2 high dots, closing fast.  We flew to intercept them and noticed they were P38s.  They had the advantage and engaged immediately.  Hazed got into trouble with both of them on his tail, with me trying desperately to get a shot.  I got into position all right, but just couldn't land any hits!   We were on the deck by now, Hazed was running out of luck, I was running out of cannon!

I kept screaming on the radio "hurry up, hurry up", but our 2nd rotte seemed to be awfully far away.  Finally Hazed ran out of luck, with the P38 shattering his 109 just in front of me.  Only seconds later the cavalry arrives and we finish the P38s quickly.  1 assist for me.  Unfortunately one of our over-eager pilots augers in the process of diving in. Also, Chaunc's engine was hit, he was forced to ditch. This left only Dinger and myself in the air.  We headed to A6 for refueling.

As we closed on A6, we noticed the beforementioned large enemy group on radar.  I sent Dinger to intercept, because I was out of cannon.  I refuel and take off again.  I grab altitude away from the cons, watching Dinger making his dive into the enemy group.  I see a plane explode, Dingers first kill.  But at the same time his plane disintegrates under the hail of tiffies' lazerhispanos and he is forced to bail.

I head to the deck as fast as I can, since I don't want to turn into minced meat.  The enemies pass harmlessly above, dropping a few bombs onto A6 as they continue north.

I grab altitude over A6 and notice that the acks are down.  And soon enough, a low dot approaches from the NW.  I dive in and smile as I spot the curvy lines of a C47.  Bang bang - 25 cannon rounds hit their target and the tailless C47 crashes in a ball of flames.

I don't see any enemies near, so I grab lazily over A6 again.  The radar shows dots inbound from the north, so I start looking into that direction.  I see a few dots coming, they proove to be typhoons.  They are a bit lower, but have good speed.  I start climbing away from them, with tracers whizzing past my plane.

Suddenly I see a low dot - another C47!  I put my plane in a dive, constantly jinking because of the 12 hispanos 800yds behind me, and closing.  I line up for a pass on the C47, less than a mile from the field. Damn overspeed, I can't get my guns on him!  I pull into a loop and go around for another pass.  I see the 3 tiffies overshoot, nice formation guys.

I approach the goonie again, but this time my 6 is too crowded.  I try to shake them off, just as the C47 pulls a barrel roll, spoiling my shot.  Durn!

This continues for a couple of turn, when the tiffies hit me hard.  My engine sputters and dies.  I'm too low to bail so I shove my nose down, going for a ditch.  No such luck - I see the 20mm APHE rounds tear my plane apart and find myself by the gates of heaven. A6 was captured 20 seconds later.

All in all, an exciting event!

The Axis managed to capture A18 and A15, while the Allies recaptured A6 and V46.  our V49 capture was only seconds too late - the frame had already been called over.

The kills went quite evenly, with our 5 109s scoring 4 kills.

Btw, I've just updated the pilot scores and awards page on the Axis ML website: http://www.hut.fi/u/vpitkane/LLv34/med/
