Is there a way to have airstarts in the ME?

Has anyone tried warping the taxi, and take off segements?

something like....
taxi(warp),takeoff(warp),cruise(warp)...  have the cruise segement stop at the altitude you want...  That might work..

I did try that when the editor first came out and it didn't work. I will try it again this evening and see if any of the patches makes a difference.

It says in the original tutorial air spawns were possible by changing the y axis and "skipping the takeoff segment".  Is it one of the functions not yet available?  I didn't read it if it was posted.  Suds?
