Apr-27: The 78th and friends launched an attack on an enemy carrier group that was just offshore one of our airfields. Although engaged by bandits, the group on the whole was able to drop on the carrier and after several hits it went down!

Apr-27: The 78th and friends launch a large B-17 mission against two enemy airfields that were being heavily used to launch attacks along the front line. After the drop on the first airfield things started to heat up and the group was under constant attack for about the next twenty minutes. Losses to flak and fighters amounted to about 15% of the group but both targets were hit hard and several bandits were shot down as well including a Me-262.

Apr-28: The 78th flew a fighter sweep in support of a friendly airfield that was coming under attack by carrier borne forces. The group shot down six bandits but also lost two pilots to flak from the carrier group.

Apr-28: The 78th and friends flew a NOE Mosquito raid on an enemy munitions facility. The run into the target was quiet and the group hammered it, bringing it down to 11% production. Rabbit clipped a tree and crash landed, but Tango was able to land and pick him up. As the group tried to egress, it was engaged by several bandits including two jets. At least one bandit was shot down but two Mosquitoes were lost as well.
