Xbox question
« on: April 29, 2008, 09:51:45 AM »
I want to buy a second Xbox. I eard that MS fixed the red ring of death issue on the newer models. If that's true, how do you know you are buying a "newer model"?

Oh and ... Grand Thef Auto IV was released today  :devil time to go mug inocent civilians, kill cops, crash cars, rocket launcher old little ladies ... do all the stuff that politicians will blame the game for our societie's decadence.

Frency, I thought I had you on my friends list on XBL. Anyways if you already have the 20 gig HD model, then just go and get the Arcade model. It is the latest model. You can tell the newer models because they have the HDMI port on the back of it.

I recently got the RRoD on my premium model I bought last year, I set it back to MS for repairs. Instead of waiting the week it took to have it repaired, I went out and bought the arcade model. It comes with a disk with arcade titles, it comes with a 256 meg memory stick and is the newest version of the Xbox 360. The best part is, it was pretty cheap. I just slapped my old HD on the arcade model and that was that.

When I got my old one back from MS, I put the arcade model away in case I get the RRoD again, I can pull my arcade model back out and ship out my broken one without missing any gaming.

I didn't like that game. My teenage step son lived with us for a few months, and brought it with him (sent that with him when he left, too).  Next thing I know, one of my younger kids had changed my mouse curser to a pole dancer.  I flipped out. Unbelievable.

I have an older one that got RROD and MS was suprisingly really cool about it.  Within 2 days I had a package mailed to me with instructions.  I mailed it off and got it back with a 3 year warrenty about 13 days later.

The thing I love about my 360 is how it works with windows media connect.  I use my 360 to stream divx movies over my wireless network from my computer upstairs.  It works awsome!  Can't wait to get GTA 4.  Maybe with my tax rebate thingy

I bought mine just for a Blu Ray player in January.Works great, and I've had no problems.I just bought my first game,GTA IV.Every single friend of mine that owns a 360 has had the RROD and sent their's back.

I'm just glad I don't have to buy second one for when mine will eventually go bad...  :rock
