Who Wants to Test?
« on: February 08, 2000, 11:22:00 AM »
There has been much ado by many looking for some changes in the AH format. One of the oft repeated suggestions has been an Axis/Allied arena.

Who's willing to put that idea into action?

I propose that tomorrow night from 8:00 PM EST (if anyone is willing) we set aside our country alliances and and run a little test for the evening. Let the North (whatever country it happens to be at that time) represent England and the Allies and the South be the Axis. Bombers can be flown by either side (gameplay concession) but other than that, stay to the appropriate aircraft as much as possible.

Anyone willing to try? If you really want to see an HA, this may be a great way to prove it!

The North:

P51D
F4U-1D and 1C
Spitfire IX
La5FN

The South:

All 109's
190A8
c205V
N1K2J

Both:

B17G
B26B
C-47

ROJO is asking for some help Thursday evening, maybe your proposal would be appropriate  for Thurs. evening:

Subject: OPFOR for this Thursday
 > > > > Weazel: Any chance JG2 could help us out this Thursday by flying as an  Opposing
Force for our TOD guys? Same drill as last time: Take off  approximately 9:15 PM EST and climb to 25k in  B-17s (possibly
with P-51's as escorts) and head into Rookland. Feed position and heading to  me so I can act as GCI for TOD squadron. What
do you say?

Kieren,

The Buccaneers are a historical squadron and we would be happy to support a "historical arena".  I'll pass this on to our CO and see what we can do for Wednesday night, our next planned squad night.

Now, if we can only get a historical terrain!

YOU can organize it! All anyone does is suggest here on the board what they'd like to see, and people either join or don't. I'm sure you'll get some Europeans to jump at the chance for some Axis/Allied action.

FWIW, our test tonight might be a total bust too. Still, I'm curious how many people really want to see an HA arena. I think this is one way we can find out.

The North:

Hmm... WW2Online is, (coughs...I didn't say that, Hangtime did.)  As I understand it, that "OTHER"game will be Axis vs Allies only.  No more Spit vs Pony vs N1K vs 109...

As for AH, HELL YEAH I want in on this!  Anyone got a website to post the action plans to?

I guess this was a bust?  Hung around for 30 minutes, no joy.

Kieren, looked for you ...

Rosco was on, thought it was tomorrow night.  If so, I'll give it a go before TOD.

Alas... connects got me again, and it took a while to get in. By the time I got there, I could only find two other fellas interested.

Let's try to latch onto Rojo's plan, and round up some help/opposition.

The "Denial of Service" thingy might be why I've had bad connects the last two nights, I'm hoping it will be better tonight!
