I AM THERE/HERE.. :aok

It took me a few days, and working late did not help, but I am typing on my NEW RIG...

When it first fired up it would not load the windows disc, but I think I had a loose connection and after trying to load windows about 10 times it finally worked..Something about loading from CD first, then making it load fr4om HD everytime after that..

The case filled up fast, but it is VERY,VERY cool, but it shouold be with like 5 fans installed and 3 extra.. :lol

I have just now got done doing windows updates,AVG,and AH ...need to finish adding all my drivers for JS and other things..

Unfortunetly I still have some shimmering in-game,I was off-line for a min to try it,so I may end up going with Nhancer again,to keep it down.

Not sure what I could tweak to help it out,but I was hoping this would cure it,with the faster CPU and all.I just dont get it..

I used my old HD,which is 80 gig,so who knows, maybe that is not enough..I would hope that it is..

Anyway,it went very well for my first build, nothing blew up,and I have all of you to thank who helped to answer my questions..

Will update soon after I get all my drivers loaded on sticks and such and get some flying in...
                                                                                           Falcon23 :salute

Good to hear!

I don't know much about the shimmering thing. However I'm sure some experts will jump on that.

I think it was Homeboy who had a similar shimmering issue.  There was a thread here where we were all comparing our video card settings but it's gone now.  I tried to serch for it but the answer is in your video card settings.

Yeah, it has something to do with Anti Laising (Spelling) or the other anti something or another.

No, it wasn't antialiasing but I think it was anistropic filtering now that you jogged my memory.

Yea,I have AF at 12x...I can get rid of most all of it,but I am still suprised, with this system that I would have any problem at all.

Hmmm... IIRC you might want to try turning it off.

Falcon,

The only thing I can think to do is delete the device in the Device Manager and then reinstall (update) the drivers.

From what I can recall, my settings were almost identical to Homeboy's..

Anisotropic Filtering - 2x
Antialiasing - Gama Correction - On
Antialiasing - Mode - Override any application setting
Antialiasing - Setting - 4x
Antialiasing - Transparency - Supersampling
Conformant texture clamp - Use hardware
Force mipmaps - Trilinear
Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias - Allow
Texture filtering - Quality - High quality
Threaded optimization - Auto
Triple Buffering - On
Vertical sync - Force on

I don't get any shimmering. Or, if it happens it's such a small amount I don't see it.

Most of the people you meet in life are like slinkies. Pretty much useless, but still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

Going to be heading out of town,so I will have to post my parameters later. But I have a different question having to do with the MOBO...

There are phased LED's on the MOBO between the ram sticks, but THEY ONLY LIGHT UP while turning on or off, there is no in-between,I am wondering is this normal???

Or should they be doing something while the system is running???

                                                                      Thanks,

Just a guess here but they may be post code error indicators (with various combinations of on meaning different error codes).  My mobo has a chip that displays an F code for various mobo malfunctions.

You mobo documentation should cover this.

Sorry, just now seeing this.
The thread you guys are talking about is here:  http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,234599.0.html

Also, the shimmering issue I was having was fixed with this setting:

Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias - Allow

I had it set to "clamped" originally.
