We all know most country's started trading under the table during the war with others for plane designs. They later decided to join Hitler and not pay a penny for his scientists genius work, they made the Me 262, flying at 550mph. You did see that 109K, and that 109E with the Italian flag, what does it tell you? The Italians much loved and wanted the designs rather than having to buy them. Rather foolish, and part smart. Either way, Hitler never won, and to see a P-39Q under an Italian flag made it simple to say Russia traded with America, then was conquered by Nazi Germany, and Germany decided to produce more P-39's. Good idea to add more skins!
No.
The 109 was a genius piece of machinery. Not only was it a sexy, well performing piece of art, it was
extremely easy to build, even by Germany's comparitively small industrial capacity, making it one of the most produced aircraft of the war, with over 33,000, falling behind only the Yakovlev series and the Il2, the most prolific aircraft of all time with 36,000 or something crazy like that built.. Because of this, Germany supplied most of it's European allies with 109's- Italy, Finland, Romania, et cetera... BTW the two models pictured are a 109G10 or a G6/AS or G14/AS, and a 109G6. No Kurfurst or Emil
.
That being said, even Italy's homegrown fighters had an amount of German equipment in them. The two Italian aircraft we have in-game, the Maachi C.202 and C.205, both use the German DB605 (or was the C.202 powered by a 601?) engine. The C.205 has two German MG151/20 20mm autocannons.
I'm 99% sure that the P39 pictured is one sold to Italy post-armistice by the United States. Germany never manufactured any P39's.
