Bottom line is that wars are just bs made up by politicians and the real powers above them (not god, mind you). For people (doesn't matter which country you live in) there is no such thing as winning a war. This has been going on for hundreds of years.

look at a map.......almost every border you see was forged by war.

I predict that the next major conflict the US will experience will involve deciding whether it's okay for a girl to kiss another girl.

While that statement is entirely true, you are also completely missing my point. Why? Because you fail to see the bigger picture.

perhaps the failing is in your initial delivery.  please be more detailed.... "bigger picture" type comments smack of ambiguity.

Perhaps he refuses to accept that winnings in land/position/natural resources can be equated to the lives it takes to attain them. Most leaders are forced to reduce human death tolls to economic costs. Those of us who enjoy moral elevation do not have to make such decisions, as we are never faced with them.

Sure, I dig. I never said that wars are unwinnable, just trying to articulate what I think the other guy meant when he said it.

If you believe that to be moral elevation, you are wrong and mislead. Don't get me wrong, I sympathize with your opinion, but there is so much more to it than that.

I believe that war is a tool of last resort, used to effect political agenda when all other avenues have been exhausted or proven ineffective. In that respect, yes, you are right, there is no winner because the decision to go to war is already, in and of itself, a compromise. However, once that compromise has been accepted, and the engagement begins, there can be a winner and a loser... Or, if you prefer, a big loser and a small loser.

I believe that war is a instrument of economical gain (=power), used to effect financial agenda when all other avenues have been exhausted or proven ineffective. In that respect, yes, you are right, there is no winner because the people who go to war is always dying. However, once that agenda has been accepted by the people, and the engagement begins, there can be a winner and a loser... Or, if you prefer, a big loser and a small loser, as percieved and explained to you by the media.

No thanks, I'm fine with the way I posted it originally.
