I'm sure this has come up before but what was going on last night has prompted me to bring it up.
A function to turn off ground-pounder radio traffic would be fantastic. I couldn't get a word in edge-ways last night because the bananas on the ground trying to take TT wouldn't shut up. There was a flood of pointless chatter from not just one or two guys on the ground but a whole bunch of them.... too many to squelch whilst in the middle of a fight.
Is there any reason why ground pounders feel the need to yell over range? "NO, no, no! Over to the left! See there, the left! No, your other left! Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's moving, yeah by that hill. No near that tree!" blah blah blah blah.
FFS.
Perhaps an option for ground pounders to transmit on ground only? Range 1 and Range 2, for example. That way, if a big furball develops over a GV fight the fighter jocks can effectively communicate and so can the GV guys. Or the addition could go the other way and 'Range 2' could be transmit/receive air traffic only. I understand that air and ground guys need to communicate sometimes but I'm sure this isn't an isolated event and the option to cut ground chatter would be very refreshing.
I'd just suggest that people be short and considerate with their radio transmissions but I know I'm dreaming with that one.
Cheers,
