agent 360 films
« on: June 25, 2008, 03:58:03 PM »

have viewed some of his films while they are very good it is
beyound me why anyone would purposely allow a nme to get on
his six. It seems to me that snaprolls, barrelrolls etc or any move
used to create an overshoot is a last ditch effort if you suddenly  get jumped. If your timing is off or execution isnt perfect YOUR DEAD.
I'm talking real world tactics where your life is on the line.

Because death in AH has no real penalty except for maybe 5-10 min of your time flying back to the fight. Just a wild guess.

It's called under estimation... I believe agent works on this... oh look I'm on his six...  too easy. Then off he goes doing his stuff which is pretty damn good...I'm not the greatest but I have seen good guys get turned and burned very quickly. That is his way... When I see a low, slow 109 there's a good chance it is you know who and I think to myself ...this time...hmmm one day. Golden rule ...Never underestimate your opponent.

well as a squadie told me, the best way to learn to defend yourself is to fly defensivly, and that is exactly what agent does. i still cant defend myslef anywehre near as good as he can. but all that stuff adds up no matter what plane your in, the k-4 is good if you dont want to just outturn people if you want to learn to outhink and make them make mistakes its an ecelent ride. oh and you can also bnz till the cows come home in it but learning defence is the best offence in my opinion.  i mean you can take some of the guys in this game with perfect scores in fighters, you know the ones
those that only bnz or vulch or fight when they have an advantage. put a fairly new player on their tail in a better turning and semi fast plane and they cant do nothing but die or whine for help. learning these kinds of defensive moves only make you a more complete and competent player and it bulds confidence to win against all odds or at least make a good showing of it.

also its good to knwo your defence cause most times even the best players will miss a con and not see em coming or their SA will be lacking. ive jumped agent when he had four guys on him at times and by the time i actualy got saddled up 2 or 3 were gone. its awesome to watch him work and even more fun when i actualy beat him.

honestly i probbly would have never even tried 109's if not for him showin me what a good pilot can do in one.

That's the whole point.  Agent manages to turn a "YOU'RE DEAD" situation into a "HE'S DEAD" situation.

Well, AH2 aint real life. Agent's life isnt really on the line.

In real life you would never deliberately do that, unless you were certifiably insane...

Go to the training areana, agent is there a lot. Try him out. Suddenly his "insane" tactics don't seem so insane any more. He lives in that K and he knows how to use it. He is one of the funnest fights out there. <S> Agent 360.

I made the films in response to another thread about what to do when you are caught dead with a bandit on your six. Although you may never purposly do this there are times when you get caught...say while you are rtb or exiting a furball...etc. There are lots of times when you don't see a con diving on you until he is 600 or closer. What you gonna do....you have three options..1 run and stick stir like a mouse...2 scream for help like a girl or 3 turn and fight. You are probably dead either way but I prefer to go down fighting.

But to make the films I had to do it the way I did.

I will admit though I regularly bring cons to my six to start the fight. It's not a loosing situation all the time especially if you plan it to start with.

And thanks for all the kind words guys. :salute

Oh for Pete's sake. At some point if you actually fly you will need defensive technique. Its not a matter of hunting this sort of situation, it is a matter of practicality. Every plane in the set has the potential to catch another plane in the set by diving, so you can't depend solely on just running away from everything that out-turns you.

The panic factor of having something more maneuverable on his six goes down when you get this simple fact through your head: Above a certain speed, every plane is equally manueverable, (unless it is a plane with highspeed control problems). A jug tooling along at 300mph IAS can easily make a Spitfire diving in at 375 mph overshoot for instance. As long as you have a little time and enough alt below you to get your speed up to where you can maneuver well, you have options.
