What are you seeing when this happens?

again...I am relatively new here folks......

I was on the runway about to take off...when I decided to change planes.  For the heck of it, I hit the "enter" thing three times as I normally would to jump from the plane...but I was still on the runway.  anywho...I did it.....and there I was....apparently standing there.  I should mention it was during a full blown enemy base raid....with lines of vulching enemy 5 deep....and I wondered if they saw me.  well...they did...quickly....and killed me..so out of curiosity I did this several times....and once was able to even shoot a cat down with my sidearm...(and a little help from base flack I am sure)...

so....what do you see when an enemy is out there on the runway without a plane or open chute?  ...do they just see a red ID...???

Actually once you are on the ground there is no Icon. Only have the chute Icon while in the air and chute deployed I believe. Correct me if I am wrong, but I have seen guys on the ground and never saw an Icon on them.

You are right.

Enemy bailed pilots have no icon whatsoever once on the ground.
Friendly bailed pilots have standard icons all the time.

ps..they also scored a kill everytime they killed me.  I've seen this icon before....is this it?  [P]

First, you can't score a kill on a chute. They did score kills on the planes you bailed from.
Second, while you have no icon you still can be seen with sharp eyes and some zoom.
Third, it's not uncommon during vulches that the spawn point is simply strafed in anticipation of a spawning plane. Especially after you spawned several times before ;)

The P icon is tagged to enemy AI troops, not enemy bailed players.
The icon for chutes is simply *chute*

  Ive seen the chute on the ground but only at certain angles.

If you spawned, could it not be he went on a straffing run for the plane just before you bailed? Could be an explaination.

maybe it's an error but i know for a fact while looking around I'll catch a quick red tag. Never have a chance to see what it is, I'll go to look in that direction and nothing but soon as i snap back to the normal view the red tag will pop again. most time it's a GV but I have spotted pilots that bailed into town like this.

I've seen chute icons on the ground many times. They tend to flash on & off & are only able to be seen from certain angles. I've killed several of them when they were just standing there giving chk 6 to their country mates, etc...
