File trouble
« on: July 03, 2008, 07:20:21 AM »
Alright, I've just downloaded Kermit's film "Doo little Raiders" and too my knowledge i was already danger low on hard drive space once it was completed. Well i was unable to view it due to insufficient GB space and I've completely lost the file.

It is still apart of my HD because my GB space is still danger low from the download. Is there anyway i can locate this .WMV file and delete it permanently?  It's not in the WMP folder and i'm having trouble located it. Thanks in advance

 :salute.

You could try a search. just a part of the file name will do or even .wmv although if you have alot it may take some time. even check your temp file.

Talon, when was the last time you deleted everything in your temp files, cookies, and done a disk cleanup, scandisk and defrag?  It may clean up 1-2 gig depending on how crapped up the comp is?

ps what size hard drive?  Can you add another?

Disk cleanup with help clean up some old compressed and temporary files.  If you've never done this before you may have several gigabytes waiting to be freed.

Disk defragging and scandisk aren't going to free up disk space, but a defrag is recommended at least once a month or less, depending on your computer usage.

Also, hard drives are really cheap.  IDE or SATA or not sure?  I just picked up a Seagate 500gb for $80 the other week.  A nice terabyte should keep my disk space open for a while.
