I like it too, the nighttime is great for low alt raids deep into enemy territory.

It comes down to this:
If you are a fighter when night arrives, it sucks.

If you are a fighter/bomber and are hitting antoher field, its great.

If you are a bomber its great.

If you are a tanker, its great. (lack of landscaped objects, night makes up for them)

I like the concept, but the way nightime and "cloud layers" are currently implemented, its impossible to play then for me.

Its like playing in a mine shaft, with black icons.

Nighttime's ok, although it is a bit of a chore to alt-tab out and punch the gamma way up so I can see.

I have had 1 really intense dogfights during nightime and another 2 good sorties during nightime. Its OK for me, admittidly its hard! once you get within icon range it heats up, very hard to tell palne orientation though.

Night is fine, aside from the fact that it makes the game totally unplayable.

Wait a minute, it's a GAME and meant to be PLAYED.  This means night sucks.

That is, of course, if you like fighting.  If you like milkrunning undefended bases then night is a dream come true.

No night in MA please.  For historic scenarios it has plenty of use.

For me it gives nice "kicks" to hunt bombers/Fighters in the middle of the night

In nights you can't see the black dot in air, only dot in dar if you're lucky. Then just lucky guess if the enemy is over you or below

I do like it, but I don't particularly look forward to flying a traditional fighter mission in the night time environment.  The fact that dogfights and furballs occur at night is almost non-sensical mostly due to the current icon visibility.  We can perceive bearing, range and closure in a way not even available to modern fighters with night vision, radar and AWACS support.
(OTH, this type of a system would give huge advantage in nightime capability for modern
fighter forces.  Hitech, ever think of marketing this kind of graphical presentation of information to the military?   Adding lit up airplane outlines to detect aspect
would be the icing on the cake - would remind me of the Dallas skyline, but I digress...)

Night time flying (or vehicle driving) in AH has potential for being something great and
a lot of fun.  Maybe not for diehard furballers, but for those who want to experience everything this sim has to offer. I'd rather see a seperate small furball/fighter town type of arena to accomodate these customers during periods of darkness in the MA than to take night time away from the entire AH community again.  Was this part of the intent of the new Duel arena?

Don't take this as a "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEN LEAVE!" suggestion...

If you don't like the night, log off as soon as it arrives.  HTC initially removed night-time because they found that a large percentage would log off rather than fly in the dark.  I'm sure they are still correlating these numbers and I'm sure it still matters.

While night time does make dogfights more dificult personally I enjoy the challenge.

I know HTC is trying to walk a knife edge with this issue. It seems to be an issue where there is very little middle ground. Your either for it or against it.
