B-24's #3 engine loss made you go down. That I know for a fact, I dont know exactly what did it, but you lost control when that engine was knocked out... I'll go dig up some quotes...

Where's Widewing when ya need him? He could confirm this. The B-24 wasn't safe at all compared to the B-17. :aok

Maybe you don't understand. COL has flown most of the Collings foundations aircraft , and many other vintage rides. He is a real pilot who has flown a lot of hours in a real b24. I think I would listen to what he has to say on the subject, and not guess.  :aok

do you want the B29 for its bombing capability (doubt it), or the n00k (highly likely)?

I stated in the original post that I didn't want the Nuke.

So do you respond to these post because you know what your talking about (doubt it) or because in real life your not that funny and you think you are here (highly likely)?

Yes, but I dont think he has ever had his #3 engine shot out by a German plane.  :aok

Look, I'd rather be proven wrong by WideWing or somebody with an actual quote. I'm still digging up my book on B-24s from my little "Library" I dont think that the fact that he flew it means anything other than that alone.

The fact that we don't have a B-29, and possibly never will, is all Furball's fault

Really, if you were HTC, would YOU want to get rid of the comedy gold every B-29 thread brings?  That cartoon gets me every time :D

Personally I think I'd take the advise of of the mechanics about a B24 from someone who has actually flown one over a "quote" or a "library" or a book probably written or quoted by someone who has probably never even climbed aboard one. But thats just me I guess. Good luck with your library card. :aok

here goes our weekly B29 thread.

From what I've read the B29 was made for high alt bombing, but since it had no precision at all, they had to use it for mid alt napalm bombing, which doesn't require any precision, same with the carrot.

We had another thread about failed planes, I would put the B29 in that category.

God just killed another kitten. :(

God doesn't kill kittens, you on the other hand probably do.
