Sometimes this game is just so cool

I was flying a Goon the other night NOE when my left prop clipped a tree which stopped the engine.

So I'm flying along on one engine and struggling to go up a very gradual incline.  I'm in external view and keep lifting the nose higher and higher trying to make this grade.  Then, I notice that my tail wheel is on the ground putting out a nice little dust trail as the nose is pointed skyward and the main gear are up.  It was like this for what seemed like a long time.

Needless to say I didn't make it and got a ditch.

It's those little things that really make this game cool sometimes.

Had that happen with C47 also except lowered gear, landed, turned around on the slope and took of again. :aok

It's hard to get that lucky but yessss, it does happen :)

I've even bounced off the ground with wheels down in a dog fight and survived....for a little while

I've done it before, but put the gear down, avoided trees till I got to the top of the hill and was able to take off again.  2 engines does help though.

I glided back to base about a sector in a b24 and rolled down a mountain the last 5 miles or so, maneuvering around trees and barns and rolled onto the runway before I stopped. I have the film. Ill post it when I find it.
