It is of a fella running up to a large piece of machinery and letting a large weight catapult him into the sky and him parachuting back to earth.  Any help would be appreciated:

Hmmm...I'm going to say real.

A)  It's definitely retarded enough for someone to have done.

B)  It looks, and sounds real.

Also, that block would have fallen with the acceleration of gravity only, that it 10/m2.  I don't know how high that crane was, or how long it took the block to fall, so I can't calculate its speed at impact at all.

Assuming that the pivot was exactly mid-way along that board, surely the same amount of force would have been exerted on the man, as the block exerted on the board.....

which would seem to mean he should have been killed....

hmmmm...

I suppose it could be real...meh...

Fake, but funny and well done.

Even if the board and fulcrum would have held together the acceleration would have killed him or busted up his lower half.  Imagine the top of the board is at 4 feet and the fulcrum is in the middle.  Imagine the weight hits the board at 100 mph - that means the guy would accelerate to about 100 mph in 4 feet.  That's about the same as a guy jumping off a vehicle at 100 mph in a horizontal position and hitting (feet first) a chunk of dense foam that compresses four feet.  His legs would buckle and break, but he may survive.

Another way to look at it, in four feet he will accelerate to the same speed that the weight acquired by falling maybe 100 feet.

If those two guestimate numbers are correct, that's 25 Gees.
