Skuzzy - Where are my files (Vista X64)

I know YOU know that someone would have to use C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\HTC\Aces High II but someone else might not.  :salute

It all depends on if UAC is turned on or off.  If it is off, then the files would be in the normal Aces High II installation folders.

It also depends on whether or not you have permanently set the game to "Run as Administrator" or not.  By default it is not set to run that way, but can be changed by the user.  If it is on, then the state of UAC has no effect on where the files are placed as they will always be in the game's installation folder.

The "Where are my files" information is for those who have UAC enabled and have not set the game to "Run as Administrator" because the files will not be where they should be.

Are you telling me the 64 bit version of Vista puts them somewhere else?

How much more needless work do you think Microsoft can create for support staff around the world?

Yeah thats what I was trying to tell you. The extra tag 'x86' indicates a 32bit 'program files' area which in my case has a lot more files of course. Microsoft itself doesnt have 64 bit programs for much at all! I was also told that one way to make Vista unstable is to keep flipping back and forth from UAC on and off. Occasionally I was using TweakUAC to turn it off completely but in the case of AHII I use 'Run as administrator' to install it. Please dont ask me why but once I started I didnt want to start all over. Yes I realize that means I will have to download and install updates manually.

Leave it to Microsoft to further convolute an already convoluted OS.
