LoL

I'm still trying to talk my wife into rudder pedals...  I figure Track IR is at least 6 months to a year away for me.  A lot can happen in the technology world in that amount of time, so you boys need to be perfecting it while I work on the Missus...   :lol

Why wait when you can make your own? TrackIR is a rip for $200 or what ever it's retailing for now.

I've never tried it but I'm sure someone can fill in if it works well or not. Only draw back I see to these devices is your views arent recored in the film viewer.

You don't think $200 is a little steep for a flimsy little bit of plastic and a cap bracket? First thing I thought when I took it out of the box is this is going to break in the first two weeks and it did.

Mine is withstanding some abuse for almost three years now (fell repeatedly on the floor ;) )

But of course the price tag is hefty when considering it's basically  just a IR cam with some LED's, thanks to a de-facto monopoly in the market.

never had a single issue with mine whatsoever.

fact of the matter is if it broke today I wouldn't play the game till I got a new one, and the new one would be overnighted.

I guess if you dont want to / cant spend the money on it and have never had a chance to use it and get used to it, its easy to talk down about it and call it a waste of money.

but I dont think anyone who has been using it for any length of time will tell you they regret the purchase.. and those are the people you need to listen to, because hey, they have more experience with it than going to the website and seeing the price, and *gasp* actually know what they are talking about.

BUT!

to steer this back on topic..

I wonder if the "hi! im your headrest!"  problem will be any better with the new model.
