I'm glad the Russians do not approve of this:

Wait... that's Grozny.

sorry

Holden - that's unfair. The Russians gave them two whole weeks to clear out. Only terrorists were left behind. 100% guaranteed. Boroda read it in Pravda.

War! Never been so much fun. War! Never been so much fun! Go to your brother, Kill him with your gun, Leave him lying in his uniform, Dying in the sun.

It's quite important to the US, because it provides military aid to Georgia, and even pays salary to Georgian government...

Proof please. Link please. Put up or shut up, otherwise you're just swallowing propoganda that your state controlled TV stations report to you.

Compared to...

Course not, Russia would get their butts owned in another weapons race. And if it went to war, OWNED again :D

Look back at 1962, when that almost happened. Who backed down then? Who would back down now? The same country :D

Putin was a former KGB agent, I dont know why the people of Russia would elect him unless it was rigged who knows. Communism sucks, plain and simple.

We have helped them train their military forces Rip. Somehow I doubt that we are paying their salaries though.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_Georgia

Quote
The Georgia Train and Equip Program (GTEP) training was conducted using U.S. Special Operations Forces and U. S. Marine Corps forces from May 2002 to May 2004. During this time approximately 2,600 Georgian soldiers, including a headquarters staff element and 5 tactical units, received training. Another assistance program, the Georgia Security and Stability Operations Program (Georgia SSOP), was launched in January 2005 as a continuation of the (GTEP) of 2002-2004. Georgian contingents were involved in the Kosovo Force and continue to participate in the operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The GAF have been extensively reformed in the recent years to meet Georgia’s aspirations to join NATO and for better response to the existing challenges such as the ongoing tensions in the unresolved separatist conflict areas in Abkhazia and South Ossetia as well as to the threats of global terrorism. Georgia also views a large-scale foreign invasion and the spillover of conflicts from Russia’s North Caucasus as the worst potential near- and long-term scenarios, respectively.[5]

How important Georgia is to the US is debatable. We helped train some of their military forces to get them up to the standard of other NATO forces to facilitate their joining NATO.

As far as where their Soviet built equipment comes from....that too is the subject of debate. I have found nothing on the internet that says it came from former Warsaw Pact countries so far. I have found information saying the equipment may have been sold to the Georgians illegally by Russian officers.

Hmmm
:lol :lol :lol

We dont need another war right now. We've pretty much won the War in Iraq, and look what they say about it. Russia would get it's butts whipped if they declared war on us. Remember, we have B-2 stealths that can drop N00ks, or bombs on ANY thing they need to. Russia only has the Tu-95 and a couple of others.

90% of South Osetians are Russian citizens.

Well of coarse they are since the Russians have been handing out Russians passports to the population of SO like candy.

Don't forget the ICBMs. Little doubt Russia still has more than a few operational. We have more but that would be a small consolation in a nuke war.

C'mon, teach Russians or Germans about taking fortified cities. I'll appreciate the list of the cities taken by His Majesties glorious army in the last 100 years, larger then Port Stanley.

150 years ago you guys didn't worry about civilians in Sevastopol... Oh, sorry! That time Brits were hiding behind French backs! Tooo bad when you meet an opponent who can return fire, eh?

You are either naive or just plain dunderhead in your logic.   You've basically stated that you would like to see nukes fly.

Are you going to tell us if we can give Russian citizenship to someone or we can't?! Are you nuts, comrade?

Go read something how you guys elegantly annexed Texas. So far Russia is a whitest lamb compared to the US with WMD in Iraq. We protect our citizens, and no one except RF Federal Migration Service and our President  has the right to decide if someone deserves Russian citizenship.

Yow does this filter say? Yeah, hugs! :)
