Friend down
« on: August 08, 2008, 08:35:24 AM »
A friend of mine is in critical but stable condition after a shotgun blast to the head.
Jaw, tongue, etc. pretty much gone.
The story is that he shot himself.
Lot of weirdness going on from my viewpoint.
A lot of things not adding up.
If he makes it I guess we will know.

When I was 17 my girlfriend's brother killed himself.  We were at his house the night he did it knocking at the door with no answer.  Her other brother finally broke the door down 2 days later and found him. 23 years later I still think about it.  Suicide is such a selfish act.

That's just awful.  If he was that depressed before, I can't imagine he'll ever be happy about life with such damage.  This may be even worse than if his attempt had been successful.  I'm so sorry to hear this Jackal1.

Another sensless tragedy, I have been to the edge myself years ago (Ironically, and many may think this is weird but it was my squadmates back in AW who really kept me going).  Best of luck coping with this, unfortunately for him, if he pulls thru things will only be worse now.  Again, tragic.

Sorry to hear that. I hope he is able to recover and that you are as well.

Sorry to hear.

I know we don't always see eye-to-eye, but I hope you both can make it, OK.
