It sounds to me like he was marked by the system as having already had his two weeks free.
If that's the case, perhaps someone in the house already played/plays it, or he downloaded it
some time ago and forgot/just never got around to playing it...I dunno.
I do know that if you didn't get your free two weeks, a quick phone call to HTC will do the trick
They are pretty good folks over there and I'm sure they will be able to help.
