Focke was displaced by the National Socialists and he started a small company called Focke-Achgelis in which he devoted his full time to rotary wing aircraft. He conducted over 2,000 wind tunnel tests to prove his concept. He would go on to help design the first large helicopter, the Fa 223, that could lift 1,500 lbs. It had a cruise speed of 125 mph.1
Could carry light cargo or 2 250 kg bombs. Its main action was in the alps but the allies bombed them faster than they could make them.
In my opinion this could had make it VERY far as a light infantry support aircraft if also fitted with manned Mg's and if the factory's went bombed faster than they made them.
The US also had a chopper but saw EXTREMELY little to no action, Forgot the name but it was so light armor that there was a rumor once that a spear like object took it 1 down.
It looks like a glider fuesel loge with large reorders (the prop)...
