Only 41 Grand Slam's were dropped in the war.

And as Lyric says...  With a 22k bomb, we'd never get off the ground with the Lanc model.

The 4k bomb is more than enough for what we need in teh game.  The grandslam would serve no purpose in AH2, as we do not have any dams, hardened command bunkers (aside from HQ), or other such target for the grandslam to destroy.

Outside the HQ, nothing else takes more than 3k of bombs to be destroyed.

The shore battery takes 4K of ords.
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?

I think aces high should put the grand slam bomb in the game i mean its pretty much as famous as the lancaster it self lol.
Just thiknk how cool it would be to have that bomb.

Yet another idea that someone wants implemented because its, "cool."

I think Tirpitz was capsized by Tallboys, not Grand Slams.

The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

Don't feed the troll.

Sure you can have it.  Only you have a max of 4000Lbs of explosives to fill it with. :rofl :rofl :rofl
Guessing the casing alone on Grand Slam weighs at least 10,000lbs. :D

And yeah, Tirpitz was sunk with Tallboys.

The 22,000 lb Grand Slam had an explosive content of about 9000 lb. The very heavy casing was needed to allow it to penetrate deep underground before shattering the foundations of its target.

A standard Lanc with a bulged bomb bay could carry a 12,000 lb cookie, basically three of the 4k bombs we have now bolted together. Cookies were thin cased bombs which could carry 3/4 of their total weight as explosive. So a 12k cookie had a similar blast value as a Grand Slam, it just exploded on the surface.

Exactly. Typical bombs are about 50/50 casing/explosives. Penetrators casings are much heavier.

One of the coolest stories from Desert Storm is the development of the BLU-113, a penetrator based on surplus 8" artillery barrels. Went from start of fabrication to in-theatre delivery in only 27 days.:O The procurement system works great when you bypass it completely. :D

This bomb would be nice to have as a highly perked piece of ordnance.  I'm sure that if it were as highly perked as I think it would ought to be, that it would see very limited usage, but I wouldn't imagine it would be too much effort for HTC to add into the game.  I may be very wrong here, but if I'm not I'd certainly like to see it.
