Raise Squad Number Limit
« on: October 19, 2001, 11:57:00 AM »
An ironic condition exists where we hear that nobody wants to fly bufs, but the DHBG which specializes in bufs is at maximum allowed strength with a waiting list to get in.

Perhaps it is time to raise the squad member limit (32) to another number such as 50.  Having to create ancillary squads with new names and different squad channels is really inconvenient to the cohesion of an effective squadron.

the reason for the squad limit is if all your squaddies were to show up there is a 32 plane limit in aces high so if you were to all fly together you wouldnt be able to see veeryone much less any enemy that unluckily happened on a squad of 50 guys.

32 plane limit in AH?

Thought that was left to WB a long time ago and I remember that HT said no such limit exist.

Maybe i'm remembering wrong though.

Vega, when JG2 was 70 strong, I simply broke the squads up into 3 squads, and we all used one common frequency to communicate on.  We also had all the Euro's on one squad so they could communicate on squad ch when the most of us were asleep.  :)  It worked out well, and though it is not the answer to your question, it is a valid work around.

Never again, not while I'm around anyway.
