Sorry Bubi - don't know how you figure that.   :huh

The 109F & the Spit V is probably the "Closest" match you are going to get in this whole sim. I think the main problem is the LW is mainly used to facing planes armed with .50's and doesn't like it too well when they come up against enemy birds armed with Cannons just as good as theirs. It is give and take in the war - if like you say the Spit V is giving the Allies some advantage - I am sure the LW will be back in "Hordes" as soon as the 190A-5 becomes available to swing the advantage back the otherway for a while.

The ME-110 is arguably the BEST heavy fighter available in the sim. In real life it had to be escorted to it's targets or it was basically SHARK BAIT for the single engined fighters - HOWEVER - in AH2 it is a regular MONSTER in the hands of even a semi-decent pilot for both A2A & A2G.

 :salute

Jester, the allies have the SpitV on the frontline, while the axis pilots have to fly 15 minutes to get to the fight with the 109F (so most are flying the 109E or C202).  The superiority we're talking about is the SpitV vs the 109E.  Moreover, capturing the base with the SpitV is near impossible because it has two extra bases to defend right next door.  That's what bubi was saying.  Have you tried out the AvA during primetime this week?

I don't know much about gv's, but is the panzer/sherman matchup a good one?

Wirbelwind vs m16 talk about a mismatch.

Stop you're whining Flat!   :)

Is the Ostwind better for balance?  I almost never use the things so I wouldn't know.

just saying 4 20mm  vs 4 50 cal is a big diff in a anti aircraft weapon. but I guess anything beats a  single 50 cal on a m8, m3 or jeep like in the first round,

but yes I would rather face the single barrel ostwind than a 4 barrel wirblewind

I'll give you a hint why, if you want it.
BTW the rest of the allies will be quite happy having Spitfires at every base, I'd imagine.
Why?

And You bet!  :aok

...Yes, I'm suggesting that the superiority of the Spitfire MkV is stagnating the fighting.
The SpitV is superior?  Boy howdy I must be flying it wrong then, because I can just about break even against the 109's and hardly at all against the Macci's... which btw, constantly out turn me if not out run.

I think the front hasn't moved because the Allies don't have a heavy fighter.
Our guys don't like the Boston and for the most part won't fly it. Heck since we only have it at limited bases most don't know where they are even if they wanted to go fly it.

I am surprised the axis haven't been able to move it so far. That triple base isn't the only air field on the front line.

Point one is very well made.  :rock

Point two has me perplexed, as in the past, the Axis were JABO'ing hell out of the Allies and taking bases left and right.

Eh, that's mostly because we don't try.  There are very few axis pilots that get excited over capture the flag; lots of allied squads seem to love it.  Personally, I find the base capture system in AH to be an insignificant improvement over what HT/Pyro implemented in warbirds ~15 years ago; the same basic idea remains.  Part of what attracts me to the AvA is that bases don't frequently change hands, so I don't have to search the map to find a new fight and don't see so much of the seal-clubbing that goes along with base capture efforts.

as in the past, the Axis were JABO'ing hell out of the Allies and taking bases left and right.

The only problem is that the allies are still trying to take 13(most of them anyway). We are involved in essentially a never ending base defense, and almost all of our actions are centered around 13.

Them lousy Allies...  :o

Well I guess that says it all then.  We can lose the bombers and just furball the heck outta each other

Osti has far better range, the wirbl vs the M16 arent really a big mismatch.
