I didn't mind the movie, the book totally owns the movie though. It's definitely a recommended read!

The thing I like most about FireFox is that it saves what webpages you were on when you open it the next time.

I use "Opera" as a browser quite a bit. It's downloading feature is very good. (Stop when you like, resume when you like)
And it's not as "open" as the internet explorer, - or maybe it just has fewer bugs after it....
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

I think I read the sequal YEARS ago, but not the original.  In the sequal, after taking off from the ice packs Gant realizes that he is leaking fuel fast. During the air battle with the other Firefox he had taken some rounds in the fuel system.  He ends up having to ditch (in a lake?) and the Firefox sinks and is frozen in ice.  Gant is captured by the Russains.  :O

I use Firefox now because IE screws up a number of things on my home PC.

There are a few disadvantages though:

1. A hyperlink to a drive or network folder displays the contents as a webpage with the link names.  In IE it just opens the folder as a real Explorer folder so that you can do whatever you want.
2. FF hoses many images made in MS Office; they look all hatched, like plaid.  It also hoses a few other types of images.  Unless you open pages in both browsers, you'd never know it though.

For most people, though, this stuff really doesn't matter.

Just have to be careful what tab you're on when you close :D
On a similar note, in IE7 I couldn't close a tab unless I opened it and hit the X... in FF you can close a tab while in another.

I only had issues with this when I was running FF on Ubuntu.

Did anyone mention that Firefox has a built-in spell checker?

I've been using it for years, and currently run the latest version (3.0.1)

Yeah I mentioned it in my first post about Firefox on page 1, I've only been using it for about 9 months and I just love that feature, I doubt any of use here were spelling bee champs and could always use help at times with spelling.

I would appear a lot dummer if not for the spell check in Firefox.

There is also a really good add on called IEtab which will open an IE window in Firefox for pages that do not work well in Firefox. It will also instantly switch a window between Firefox and IE and you can even run Windows Update in it. :aok

Firefox definately loads pages quicker than I.E. Also nice addon is NoScript - gives permissions for Java and other plugins to trusted sites only - or you can temporarily allow a page.

I just love the ability to easily tune your browser, a wealth of plugins, and its not M$.

I've always had something else than IE... at first Mosaic, then Netscape, then Firefox.

The only things I need IE for (and that is hardly ever) are MS updates and AH2 KILL STATS, which are so durned married with that infested IE dinosaur :furious :furious :furious

Firefox rocks  :rock
