You'd think that after holding your own in a Ki-61 against a P-51B, a P-51D and an La-7 for about five minutes you'de get a salute and a "nice fight".  I guess not.

I've notice a lot less salutes recently.  Went on break for about 2 weeks, came back, had some good fights, salute some people, never did one return it.  Maybe people hate me?  The people were normally part of well known squads that i have seen normally give salutes back, but i guess i picked a bad day.

A few weeks ago I was up defending a field in my P-51D.  A large group of Luftwaffe aircraft attacked it, I chased TWO 190D9s on the deck for quite some time.  When two more 190D9s appeared ahead at 10k, then and only then did they finally turn and all 4 piled on.    I got one and smoked another, and after 5 minutes I took a hit which blew half my left wing off as I was in bank at tree level.  Caught it, got level and had one try and ho me.  The other two curved in on my six and got my engine at which point I ate a tree.  I had a great time and totally enjoyed it.  Nothing on 200 from them though...  Bish.. gotta love em.

I'd salute you Eagle. Your more like a God then a man. We should have a "salute Eagle day", say Thurs. right after the babe of the week. Eagle can start a thread hinting at his incredable cartoon exploits and we can all  him.

I too have noticed a few less salutes lately. I give them out when a fight last more than a few turns or if it is someone who keeps coming back.

If it is in a case where I was shot down I just figured they are busy and then may have forgotten since the text bar moves rather quickly when tuned to 200 or when some goof is entering the 100th time about his mission. The times that I salute when I am the victor I just figure they were mad because they got shot down or they just don't quite know how (it took me some time to figure it out), but if it is someone who has been around a while then I just laugh because I am sure it is because they were mad.

I don't know how many actually know what a good fight is. I'm sure less are actually looking for one.  I wouldn't get your hopes up about a gang sending a <S> to you, there in it for one thing only, and that's is to dog pile on you so that 1 of them can get a kill.  

I'm reading this as less of a whine about not getting a S, and more of a comment of the state of the MA, and hope I'm correct in doing so.
