I have a hard time going to these. I've made it to the Reading PA WWII weekend a few times. That one has a lot of warbirds, and the show is just great with what they put on both in the air and on the ground.
The westover show is more newer birds, thought they do have some old warbirds. The show though can only be second rate for me. I was in the Navy and stationed on board the USS Eisenhower. A nuclear carrier out of VA. At the time I was assigned to her she was the newest of the fleet. (did the ratings off of Cuba, am a plank owner, and a shellback <-- lookum up if ya don't know what they are
) When we had dignitary's on board they would put on a show. Nothing can compare to F-14's and A-6 dropping live ordinance on a target mapped out by smoke bombs the helos would drop. Talk about "buzzing the tower". They would would scream by 500 feet off the water, 500 feet off the port side ! They were a dot in the sky when the boom would hit you ! LOL!!!
Only reason I'd make the run down the pike would be to meet some of you guys out there, but doing a bunch of travel for my company, hoping to spend the weekend home with the little woman ( hope the wife doesn't find out
)
Have fun, post some pictures !
