Presents for Ladies birthday or Christmas
« on: September 05, 2008, 02:46:55 PM »
I have a problem.

It is the misses 37th birthday today. I have never been good at buying good presents. Once a few years back for Christmas I bought her a mop and broom set. Vaccum for Birthday one year. Pot and pans, cook books.

Never been one to buy flowers or trinkets (Use them for special get off the hook presents)

I was thinking about getting a home gym for her this year but wondering if that was bad idea.

Damn and I thought I had problems!!!! :rofl

Dude buying her a home gym? Save the money and just walk up to her and tell her she's fat, same effect, no wasted money and I'm SURE she'll appreciate it. :O

Take her to dinner, go for a walk in the park or something, run her a bath when you get home, and clean the living room and bedroom while she's in the tub. She'd probably enjoy that more than a home gym. :aok

Get a basket ~ the three dollar kind from the craft section at wal mart is just fine.

Put in it:

a small box of chocolates
a crystal candle holder (with candle)
a $10 or $15 (whatever they cost) gift certificate to a nail place so she can get a manicure
bath scrubbie stuff (soaps, gels, foot soak, eye salve... whatever. it's all together at the pharmacy section of wal mart).
a great book

Buy until the basket is filled. Make sure none of it is for your pleasure... it's all stuff for her which doesn't include you ~ that means no nighties or anything like that should be included.

Break down and buy her some roses.  Keep her guessing! :D

I usually buy the wife a dozen every month.  I mix up the days so she never knows when she's getting them.  She deserves them.

I will take one of the girls down town with me and give her this list. :)

Can't buy anything like that or she will start thinking I am up to something. :noid

I am finding out years later that get me nothing really means get me something. Man I hate all the reading between the lines stuff with her.

As for what she likes it is Horses, Horses and more Horses. I know nothing about them other than they have 4 legs and a tail. I like machinery of all kinds NOT animals.

Jewelry..... Maybe for her horse other wise she doesn't wear any not even a watch.

good thing the girls are teens now and I can use them to shop for me.

BTW TxMom why isn't me giving what nature has given me to her for her birthday not considered a present for her? :huh

ok...you just hit it.

is there any ranches near you>? that you could take her on a trail ride? if there is, learn the basics of riding.....don't let her know you're doing it. then take her out riding on a trail.

set up a picnic somewhere along the trail. if you have to, pay the ranch to get the things there. make sure it's all "mushy" lovey dovey. also, make sure it's something SHE likes, foodwise, and if you have any sort of music there, same thing.

she'll love it.  aaannnnd, she'll be impressed as all hell that you took the time to learn to ride JUST FOR HER.

things like that have worked for me in the past.

good luck!

Pardon my idiocy, but first off a wife means you should know her a bit I'd hope...

second off as a wife she should let you know what she likes and not be all "mysterious". Why women always keep stuff from their "man" confounds and irritates me personally.

All you have mentioned is she loves horses, why not get her some saddle time in a special horse, or some time on a ranch together riding? she must have a usual place of riding, check with them about a weekend package of riding trails or something similar. see if they recommend a place that can provide such.

does she own her own saddle? they are quite expensive, but you can take her some place and just say "pick one".

thats my thoughts.
