Next scenario: Battle of Britain 2008 registration
« on: September 23, 2008, 02:36:14 AM »
Everyone, I will be opening registration for Battle of Britain 2008 on Thursday night (Sept. 25th).

We will probably not be increasing registration once registration is full.  However, after registration is full, anyone wishing to play can show up as a walkon -- there are usually spots available for walkons.

It is July, 1940, and the fate of a nation is about to be decided.

Hitler has just given the order to begin preparation for Operation Sealion -- the invasion of Britain. France has fallen, the United States has not yet joined the war, and the Soviet Union is still Germany's ally. Britain stands alone.

The first order of battle is for the Luftwaffe to pave the way by destroying the Royal Air Force and pounding British infrastructure and cities. The Luftwaffe is mighty and skilled. The RAF is outnumbered, but it has the world's most advanced radar system -- and something just as important: an indestructible will to repel the Luftwaffe, no matter what the personal cost.

The Battle of Britain scenario will pit the RAF in its Hurricane Mk I's and Spitfire Mk I's against the Luftwaffe in its Bf 109E's, Bf 110C's, Ju 87's, and Ju 88's. The Luftwaffe will work to destroy all airfields, ports, and ships in the southeast of Britain. The RAF will do whatever it can to stop them.

The fate of Britain hangs in the balance.

This scenario starts November 1st, 2008.

Your enthusiasm is admirable, though your tactics shortsighted. You begin a battle that cannot be won against a foe that cannot be defeated. We shall fight you on the seas, and in the air. Should the darkest of days come where a jackbooted heel sets foot on our sovereign isle, we shall fight you on the shores, on our farmlands, in our cities. Our armies will take up the fight. Our citizens will take up the fight. We shall fight to the last breath and none shall back down, give in, or concede defeat.

I want you to know how prepared we are, but I assure you it will never come to that point. Our Spitfires and our Hurricanes shall sweep your men from the skies and leave them clear, open, and free of the evil you hurl at us.

Fellow Deutschen,

I have just received word that Britain has declined our peace offer once again.  These same men were responsible for nearly 100,000 of our troops to be  executed while being unarmed.  They then continued to starve us of food, they robbed us of our resouces and billions of dollars.  They have always sought to destroy the German people.  Once again, after we advanced, they continue to spew their propaganda, stating we have no chance of success.  They claim that we are the ones who are evil.  They claim that we will die.  The truth shall become known of their hypocracy and lies soon enough.  It is now their turn to pay!  The miracle we gave them as a gift, has been ignored.  Their hate continues to pursue the complete destruction of Deutchland and they leave us no choice, but to destroy the Royal Air Farce, and make Britain, Kaput!

Quite right, my red tailed friend!

"The nazi propoganda machine is in full march, and cannot be trusted. Do not be fooled, nations of Europe! The flimsy facade used as basis to invade France and the lowlands does not even apply to Great Britain, and yet we hear the same story. The same excuses may restrain the hungry and starving German people from revolting, but the rest of the world will not be restrained! Revolt! We shall stop this power-mad nation from expanding at the cost of the rest of the world. Rise up and stand against this tyrannical nazi war machine!"
