My first tank sortie I was playing around with the arrow keys and moving the seating position forward and backward trying to see better out of the tank. I finally moved it way forward and said wow now I can really see out of this slot. About that time a spit came in from the front and gave me a pilot wound. A gosh darn pilot wound in a tank!
:O ????  never heard of that...  Been playing for almost 2 years and never received a pilot wound in a GV.  I would like to see film on that. (bet it doesn't exist).

Anywho...  I played for several weeks not knowing about zoom, and bracket keys.  I was trying to finish off a town and couldn't see I had chosen smoke to take out town buildings.  The guy in the M3 was calling me several names for smoking up the town and not killing buildings.

What a dweeb I was (and still am)

My Noobish moment(s) also include the whole Zoom issue. But the one that eluded the longest was the "W" key and clicking on the map when you're in the Cruiser guns. I used to feel so proud when I hit something in direct fire mode :aok, then I found out about land and sea modes. That just made me feel retarded at that point. :rofl :rofl

When I started playing offline, I flew using the trim and rudder instead of the ailerons and elevators. :D

Another thing that took me a while to recognize was the difference between "big hangars" and the real fh's and vh.  There's a lot of objects on the field that aren't worth blowing up!

It should also be default for spawn points and radar rings to be on the map.

Yes, it was. I was surprised at how WWII pilots could turn their plane, because I sure couldn't. Had me thinking how stupid this game truly is, can't even turn a fighter better than the drones. :D

I was doing that for a while this weekend, I always thought you had to re-click on the clipboard map if you wanted to shoot at a different location on the base.  Found out that you can adjust it while zoomed in by watching the range #'s.  Didn't miss a single target after I got that figured out.

Sad part is, I've been playing for how long? (Looks down)  :cry

I did it the old fashion way. I spent weeks reading as many instruction, tip, and manuals I could get my hands on. Then I spent a week or two setting up my stick and learning the lay out I choose, THEN I went on-line to play. Only thing I had to learn  was how to fight with this flight model.
