Was awesome, until the arena reset. Had 2 kills and was lined up for getting a third!

However I am not complaining, CM's are overworked, and under appreciated. Mistakes happen to the best of us.

The carrier has just been free points for the Axis. CV CAP worked exactly as planned but you just blew right past and even when diving the Seafires and F4Fs couldn't catch up again in time.

CM needs to adjust SOMETHING with the CV battle because the CAP has been overmatched to the point of not being fun in the least.

Which wouldn't have worked quite as well if the CV CAP had access to planes that 110s can't outrun even if they're diving at full power. :p

One group of Seafires stripped off the 109 escorts. Two other squadrons (~15-18 Seafires and F4Fs) had the 110s all to ourselves. We struck from the high forward-port side in a nice position to roll right in on your formation, so we're not even talking about us helplessly watching dots zip by in the distance. Our positioning couldn't have been more perfect. If the 110s had been C-4s it would have been a slaughter if you all tried to hold your ordinance and make a straight run for the CV. Against G2s you may as well have been in Arados.

Carrier hardness and ack needs to be bumped up, because right now the CV CAP is almost not even part of the picture.

My 109 escort (367th) :salute engaged your spits, and when i saw you guys we went full power and dropped to 10 k.
I had almost 40,000 lbs of ordance so making cv harder to kill wouldnt have made much of a difference. :rock

Noticed that. Was most likely an oversight in the rush to get the arena back up.

Just for the record: I don't believe it is the setup CM's job to test the map to see if a capture will reset it. I saw some fingers pointing at Mystic(most of it in good fun) and I'm not saying that's who you are referring to either.

Capture is a rare element in FSO. And although Tunisia seems familiar, it is really a new map, different from the ones we have seen before. Also the design and objectives may have come from 2 different CMs (not sure about this FSO).

The setup CM just puts up what the designer and controlling(?) CMs ask for.

Note for future:When designing(or altering the design of) an FSO to include a capture, please verify that the map will not reset and make changes as necessary. <- Problem solved

I think the average for this kind of thing is about every 10 months. Bombers getting bombarded with puffy ack just after TO. An interloper in CV's 5" killing the defenders. It's not always as catastrophic as last night's reset, but be braced for it. Something will go wrong sooner or later.

I think Mystic did a fine job of crisis management.

We "The 49th FG" in our 38G's (Which we loath but can still fly farely well.) Had a pretty good time.

We got our escorted bomber groups on target with little disruption. Those interceptors we did run into we managed to run off without losing anyone. Wait scratch that, we lost one bomber droone on the way in.

Bomber got on target while we held the rest at bay, then we heard the fateful words. "We're going around again!" The bomber turned aroudn to make a second pass at the target.

OH MAN !

We still managed to keep most of the 190's and 109's off the bombers during their attack. By the time the heavies were ready to turn home though most of the germans had returned. Fortunately most of them were too low to catch the main bomber formation. They had to be content for the most part with the bomber stragglers.

We lost a few fighters trying to protect or save those stragglers, or diving into groups of climbing german fighters baiting them low and out of the bomber stream. A single P38 diving through a gaggle of 190's or 109's is good for drawing off 5-6 interceptors hungry for a kill. That turned out to be a fair exchange. We were seeing groups of up to a dozen german fighters being tied up by as little as two P38's while the bombers were slipping out the back door.

Was a good frame.

Only real problem we had was that due to having 38g's we couldn't catch anything in order to shoot it down.
