A casual AvA idea
« on: October 15, 2008, 11:29:07 PM »
I like the idea of having the AvA set to BoB before the main event.  That said, something in coordination with FSO could have a positive effect on attendance.  People would come to play if the AvA had the same map, planeset, and starting airfields so they could practice for the Friday event.  Field capture could be enabled since we have the tools to prevent resets.

I'm not suggesting that the AvA be totally changed around this plan, but it's a suggestion for piquing interest.  Maybe have the AvA setup for the next FSO during the off week?

I like that idea.  Do you think it will attract the numbers?

Might take the load off the Staff in scheduling  :D  But then I wonder if we could convince the FSO staff to do something new?  :uhoh

Well, the big test is to see if the AvA has numbers after this weekend.  My hypothesis is that setting the AvA to the newest FSO during the off week would improve attendance for about a week.  Once people fly their first frame for that FSO and feel comfortable attendance would drop again.

I like the idea and will be stealing it.   :)

After BoB I will implement it, may be a little out of sync initially due to running BoB for two weeks.  But after that each off week of FSO the AvA will set up the next FSO's planeset.  I believe it will be a benefit for both parties.

Thanks for the suggestion! <S>

That was a good idea. Especially since the FSO tends to be schedule out many weeks in advance so it shoudl not bee hard for us ot plan our events around theirs.
