Ahh I gotta start saving my sorties! I've had plenty of good ones, sometimes where I'd shoot random shots 4K out and have it blow up. Others where I try to be sneaks and fly as low as the sheep graze, shut my engine off and glide in to kill the guy. Even when I taxi up to him and kill him. :)

Even when I taxi up to him and kill him. :)

Iv did that before. The side I was on was camping the other sides spawn and I had one of my wingtips shot off by a wirbel but I was able to land on top of hill. The enemy's spawn was on the side of it so I started rolling down using the brakes to get the gun low enough. I got two kills before I got a 75mm point blank to the melon.

My only tank kill in the B-25H was when our VH was down and the enemy was about to camp our runways, so I taxi'd out and popped him with the 75mm. :rofl

Always fun to taxi out and kill them of course. :D
Have to do that a lot when they have fighters around.  Been using the B-25 as my primary GV killer and some times plane killer since it came out.
Taken a bit of practice, but I have learned it decently well, well enough to out-fight a C205 and kill Ostwinds without getting hit. :aok
Now to find my films....This could take a while. :)

Even with the up-gunned Il-2, I think the B-25H is still proving to be the game's premier tank buster.

Now if only HTC would give us the AP mix we have evidence of being used by 25H crews....
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

I beg to differ because

- The Sturmoviks firepower is easier to employ, the higher ROF helps more in getting kills than the 25's ability to hit at longer ranges, which is very difficult for the average player
- The new 37mm gun means that B-25 and Hurri D have no longer the advantage of being the only planes able to bust Tiger & T34 on a regular base
- The Sturmovik is a smaller, target more nimble and overall better armored which gives it enhanced survivability vs enemy fighters and suddenly appearing Wirbelwinds

The B-25 however has the advantage of carrying a few nice bombs, but killing GVs with bombs isn't really my thing ;)

A few numbers just fyi, not to conclusively prove anything:

vs Panzer:
25: 147-109 K/D 1.35
Il2: 859-190 K/D 4.52

vs Tiger
25: 7-25 K/D 0.28
Il2:31-47 K/D 0.66

vs T34/85
25: 32-70 K/D 0.46
Il2: 120-167 K/D 0.72

vs Wirbelwind
25: 117-352 K/D 0.33
Il2: 505-845 K/D 0.60

I never had expected that the Il2 had such a big K/D advantage in killing Tigers, as the B-25 can carry 1000lbs bomb...

I suspect that that is directly related to the fact that Air to Ground kills are most often scored in defense of an airbase that is under GV attack.  Most GV mission planners like to have the ordinance bunkers knocked down before the GV assault occurs.

Last night had a blast with the B-25H over TT in the LW arena, managed to score two kills with one round.  A Jeep was dropping off supplies to a panzer when my shell hit right between them, saw the turret on the panzer blow about 100ft into the air and the jeep explode along with all the supplies it dropped.  Good times that resulted in some quality whines on channel 200.

That is the reason the 25 will never reign supreme over the Il2. The B25 moves like a pregnant tree sloth when jumped and the Il2 at least can dodge some of the incoming fire.

Not quite, if you have around 250mph and preferably several thousand feet of altitude, you can get in an Immelman or two, and then several hammerheads.

Also, since most people will see the B-25 as a really easy kill, half the pilots you get will sit on your six, and if all else fails, the tail gun can be quite effective.
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?

I have found that the B25H is a great Lanc killer...especially when they're low and slow. That cannon can kill more than GV's you know.  ;)

I agree that, gunwise, the new IL-2 is the best tank buster in the game. You can ride an IL-2 almost right up to the tank and really hose it. Then is a wirbel pops up you can egress at treetop using terrain as cover and make yourself very small. But, all this is what Lusche said.

I know on a tank moving rapidly the IL-2 is a much better tank killer cause you can ride it down right on top of the tank, moving or no. And you get much better attack angles with the IL-2. I would say also that to master the B-25Hs big gun you need more skill and finesse then most are willing to put into it. I get into one and I'm pretty helpless hitting anything.

We had a herd, horde of Hs the other day on the rook side and seeing about 25 of them coming in on a base full of GVs was a sight.
