Sare Palin trukey pardon.
« on: November 21, 2008, 01:20:16 PM »
I hope this topice is not a issue.  Did you all see that news interview w/ Gov. Palin and in the back round a turkey is getting decapitated or something.  The funny part about it the guy keep looking over at the camera with a idiot smile.

On a turkey.
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

I saw it, what's so interesting about it? Someone eats meat every day, its a natural part of life. Nothing humorous about it.

I found it amusing, but only because it was part of her annual Gov. turkey pardon...

She pardoned two birds about 2 minutes before that... other than that... i'm backing away from this thread now

I find it humorous that people were turned off by it. One of the problems in today's society is that people don't know where their food comes from. I mean they even put maxi pads in the bottom of meat packages so people don't have to deal with a little blood.

It would probably do a lot of people some good to go out and butcher their own dinner once in a while.

Who cares if a turkey is pardoned.

If the environmentalists get their way (all humans die), I'm sure that the animal kingdom will see that a vegetarian diet is the way to go.
Of course, the poor leafy greens will get slaughtered. But they don't count. They're not alive like the animals are, right?

If we're not supposed to eat meat, then why does it taste so good?   :D

I have both end supports up (one is at 70', the other is at 65') but I will need another person to man the guide rope while I have to maneuver out about 5' around a tree branch on the way up.  That should be done Monday.  When it's fully installed it should be about 66' (one half wave length) on 40 meters.  I'm also on a hillside about 350' above the lake, so the antenna will "sound" like it's even higher.

When I bought this new QTH--and I could see mountains in Queen Wilhelmina State Park some 50 miles away...that's when I decided to buy a 6 meter rig (all mode).  I'll home-build a 5 element yagi for it.  When I saw what they wanted for 5 and 6 element yagis....definitely a home brew job.  I've never been on 6M, but with being on a mountainside??  I HAVE to try it out.  It might take a few weeks to get everything ready for 50 mHz.

BTW:  Rip....thank you for fixing my post.  Well done, sir!

My turkey is defrosting in the garage fridge.  Normally I do the "Anti-Turkey" out on the grill, but since it's just the 2 of us this year, we're going minimalist. No pardon for mine!

I havent heard much on 6 meters this fall, I must of not been on at the right time. I do enjoy running mobile though, but with 5 antennas on the truck now I think I have to stop. Wouldnt mind having 17/15 meters also but 5 is enough!

2 meter high gain (stacked 5/8?), 6 meter 1/4 wave, 102" whip for 10/12, hamstick for 40 and for 20 meters
