You mean were ALL a bunch of wide arsed, balding, middle aged men "or teenyboppers" sitting in front of a computer screen in our jam-jams? With our little headphones on? Wives or parents nagging?  Zapping little cartoon airplanes? Going Neeeeeeooowwww, zeeeooowwwww? Talking to other middle aged men "or teenysqueekers" like we were at 20,000' over Berlin circa 1944?

Well truth be told, its more than just a game, very rare is it to get a adrenaline rush out of most other game, if any.

For me, aces high can do this for me, and it is the reason why i stay.
Nothing is like flight, and air gunnery..like wise there is nothing like managing your bird, while slaughtering someone else.


The joy of flight, the joy of combat, the joy of survival.

Cant be matched for 15 bucks a month.

Yeah it's good to keep that in perspective.  But with any great game, you get drawn into it and really care about it.  When you care about something there will be some head butting from time to time.  I think it's better that we all care about the game and head butt with eachother then if we just had a 'whatever' attitude and really never got immersed into the game and the drama that comes with it .  With that said we still need to tone down the flamebaiting

sooooo much more than a game for me. it is my temporary escape from reality. fighting other planes gets my heart racing. it lets me take out some aggravation without ever actually hurting anyone. it lets me forget about my daily problems, if only for an hour or so.
 for these reasons and more, this flight sim, and community, are the best money i spend each and every month.

It IS a game of course, but it could be argued that exploring the science of air combat under realistic simulation conditions approaches art...Chess is just a game but is also venerated as an art when practiced at the highest levels...I would argue that AHII well flown might deserve the same status.
