Rook milkers
« on: November 28, 2008, 07:19:15 AM »
Maybe if you guys would pork troops, ord & dar, you could get your scores down AND help the rook effort. Maybe even kill a few planes along the way. Just my .02 cents.

i don't know what you're defining as milking? high bombers? or the lower alt fighters and bombers attacking a base? if it's the latter, that's one of the best ways to creat an incredible furball.
in MW last night, there was a furball between 5(i think) and 29. it moved back n forth a few times. they porked some of our stuff, and we returned the favor, but all in all, there was FUN fighting, almost constant for over 2 hours. no gang bangs, no hotards, just good fun fighting....interspersed with a little running here and there. i don't blame them though, as when they did, it was their best option, and they ALWAYS came back as soon as they had a good fighting alt.
 was serious fun.

A true milker (not a player that does the occasional milkrun) porks only strat targets, not airfields.

What I meant by "milkers" are the ones that do nothing for hours on end but bomb factories. I watched 2 guys this morning for 3 hours do nothing but. I tryed in vain to pork troops and ord but it was just too many bases for one or two guys to do. Meanwhile bish had less numbers and still they rolled up bases with ease. Rooks just don't seem to be with it like they used to be.

Another example today is when bish  took a base while we had two friendly GVs in town. Another example...also this morning, my squadie alerted a noe bish raid on a field of ours.....no one came until after it was taken. Alert was given 10 minutes before they broke dar. me and him ran over there in tempests but we were fighting 20, so we lasted about as long as a turd in the ole punch bowl.

This is why I'd just as soon furball anymore. I'm just disappointed in the rooks lately. They used to be better than this.

2 Tempests vs low and slow bomb laiden attack planes should have been easy lunch for you guys even going 2 vs 20.  You should have at least been able to kill the goons and enough of the other planes to stop the mission or at least slow them down enough until help arrived.  I get this mental image of you guys blowing through making ho passes vs 110s, lol.

After that two day Rook Blitzkrieg, of course Rooks aren't what they used to be. Now, a skilled horde commander is NECESSARY to rally the Rooks to grab. They just seem to have burned out. (In orange, at least.)

Dude, you are missing out on some good clean fun.  Switch sides, shoot them down, rinse and repeat. Relish in their howls and lamentations. If I'm on, dispatch me to do your evil deed.  Two thumbs up and good fun for the whole family.     :aok  :aok

I have close to the same feeling about the knights.  They have never been uber base takers but teamwork has gone down the drain.  Seems like at perk times we are outnumbered and all the knights are hording one base.  No one defends just flies along in the horde/furball.

now see....in MW, thatg isn't always so. i was fighting in the northwest section of the map. no base taking attempts, just fights(against rooks). one of my squaddies mentioned the bish were attacking one of our southeastern bases. next thing ya know, most of us are there defending, and having a grand old time with the fights that ensued.

i think that people try to say rooks do only this, knights can't do this, bish are "this", like they think people fly differently because they have a different chess piece above their cartoon planes.
in reality, it's the same, regardless of what chess piece you fly for.
