A while back it was me against 6 109's in the AVA when they first switched it over from the old CT arena.
I was in a Hurri 1 climbing out from my base when I spotted two 109's co-alt and coming in fast. I dove under them and after several reversals we were on the deck. By the way they flew I knew they were coordinated so I worked at getting both of them out in front of me at the same time. At this time I spotted another pair of 109's inbound, and thought to myself, well I'll be in the tower shortly.
I gained the six of one 109 while his partner worked to get on my six and the other two closed in. Got within 200, turned on the sawzall, and the 109's wing departed the airframe. The second 109 was now closing on my six and I dumped my nose, stalled my engine, and forced the overshoot. I pulled the nose up as he passed over me and managed to remove half of his wing. As he fought to regain control of his aircraft I removed half of his other wing. In he went, two down, two to go. At this point I was amazed that I had not only survived, but that I'd gotten two kills.
I was low and slow as the second pair came in. Thankfully they weren't as coordinated as the previous pair so I quickly managed to get them in front of me where I could work on gaining their six. I'd been taught early on to aim small, ie: don't aim at the whole airplane, but at a piece of the airplane, such as a wing root or the canopy. The third 109 died in a crossing shot when I filled his cockpit with lead from 8 303's.
I believe at this time the 4th 109 pilot was getting a bit concerned as he seemed rather cautious in his subsequent attacks. As I moved in to work on him I spotted two more 109's inbound, most likely the first pair of pilots I'd encountered returning for revenge. I gained the 109's six and removed a wing with my little sawzall just as the fifth 109 pilot dove in on me. I jinked right, he overshot, and lawndarted. I jinked left to dodge his partner and slammed into a freaking tree.
I had to get up and walk away from my computer I was shaking so bad from the adrenalin. I've had some other memorable fights since then, but this one stands out in my mind as the best one.
